You know that saying, “You don’t know what you don’t know”?
I’ve found that to be especially true in the therapy world.
No matter how long we’ve been practicing, there is always more to learn… new approaches, new perspectives, new ways to help the people we serve. And honestly, that’s one of the things that makes this field so meaningful.
That’s why I surround myself with mentors and colleagues who’ve been where I want to go.
Therapists who’ve navigated the tough cases.
Therapists who’ve built the practices I admire.
Therapists who’ve learned lessons I haven’t faced yet.
Leaning on others isn’t a weakness.
It’s professional growth.
It’s community.
It’s the reason we get better at what we do.
Having mentors helps us see blind spots, strengthen our skills, and show up for our clients with more confidence and clarity.
