Tis the season for scamming! I work with elderly people daily and I hear the horror stories how their accounts were drained or they fell for some “make money fast” scheme. This goes out to my small business friends as well. Check email address and trust your gut!

I get a message to order and ship ornaments. Nothing out of the normal. (I was being cautious bc it didn’t look like a real fb acct but I have been wrong before.) I conduct the conversation like i would any other. We discuss Zelle for payment. I’ve taken it a million times before. My name, email and phone number is plastered everywhere from sales so NBD. My address and everything is public record unfortunately. So there isn’t a whole ton of identification protection.

Well to make a long story short I get a “Zelle” email asking ME the SELLER to pay $300 to accept $60 lol. Thankfully I have a brain but I decided to have some fun with him. Lol as you can see clearly he didn’t like it.

I’m just out here trying to spread joy this holiday season and make some money in the process. It’s such a shame! I feel disappointed in mankind when things like this happen but I’ll continue to feel grateful that I have intuition and didn’t fall for his scam.
