Artist Spotlight: Rhizomorphic

Rhizomorphic is an experimental genre-breaking psychedelic electronic music project formed by Payton Lacy out of Oklahoma, USA. The word "Rhizomorphic" is an agricultural term referring to mushroom mycelium webs, which intertwine and root into the earth. His music is influenced by many different styles, ranging from psybass to glitch hop and downtempo. At 29 years old, with 10 album releases in 9 years of producing, he has maintained a steady flow, continuously drawing in new inspiration. His repertoire encompasses a broad range, spanning from uptempo dance floor heaters to lush downtempo, as he tailors his unique live sets to each occasion. Recently, he has performed at music festivals such as Tipper and Friends 2023, Backwoods Music Festival, and has sold out headlining shows at venues including The Black Box in Denver. Additionally, he has rapidly gained listeners from all over the globe and has had the opportunity to play alongside artists like Grouch in Dub, Somatoast, Tipper, Ovoid, Resonant Language, Opiuo, Entangled Mind, Kaya Project, Supersillyus, Cualli, Mantis Mash, and more. Artist Spotlight #18: Slomato

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Kaleb Lujan, known by his musical moniker Slomato, is an electronic music producer who has been carving his own path for over a decade. Born in the Mile High City and often bouncing back and forth from the town of Evergreen, Kaleb's musical journey began early on with clarinet and drums, but it was his fascination with computer programs and music production that ignited his creative spark.

With a diverse range of influences spanning punk, indie rock, old school hip hop, metal, and electronic music, Slomato's sound is a captivating amalgamation of electronic subgenres and styles. Drawing inspiration from visionary artists like Tipper, Resonant Language, Mickman, Keota, Jade Cicada, CharlesTheFirst, and Detox Unit, Slomato's sonic palette is characterized by its hybridized nature and an unyielding commitment to sonic exploration.

Consistently experimenting with electronic music production using Ableton for a decade, it was in 2018 that he decided to take his craft seriously. It was with that he plunged himself into a niche community of like-minded individuals who appreciate the intricacies of electronic music.

Slomato invites listeners to join him on a journey through the uncharted realms of electronic music, pushing the boundaries of what is possible and inspiring others to embrace their own creative explorations.

New banger out from Humandala!!

Hey ya'll, I have new music out today. This one is called "Bibimbap" and it's been a staple in my live shows for the past year. This will be the first release from my forthcoming Inoculation EP. My plan is to release one song every couple of weeks and to maintain a steady output of material.

This collection of tunes reflects the light hearted silly side of my internal soundtrack. I started working on many of these songs at the onset of Covid. Others have come to completion within the last few weeks. Inoculation represents a learning curve and an exploratory process. I've learned a lot about honing my craft and the creation of theses songs has helped to solidify what my next step in music will be. So check out these slappers and hold on tight for what the future holds.

Langwidj's music project is one of a kind, with a sound that seamlessly blends a variety of genres and influences. He began his music journey creating lo-fi hip hop beats, but after witnessing Tipper's performance at Suwannee in 2017, he was inspired to pursue a career in modern electronic music. His musical inspirations range from jazz and funk musicians such as Uyama Hiroto, Sun Ra, and Lettuce to classical music, and he draws from a diverse range of hip-hop artists, including Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, Kendrick Lamar, and Isaiah Rashad. Langwidj's ability to express emotions and convey a message through his compositions is a testament to his talent, and his experience playing guitar and various instruments further enhances the depth and richness of his music. Langwidj's project is a unique and original expression of his musical vision, thanks to his extensive knowledge of different styles and genres. Every day, he continues to create and evolve his sound, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in electronic music.

Phurn is the moniker of colorado-based electronic producer/Dj Hunter Decasas. Born in Montana and raised in the woods of central Vermont. Phurn began producing music in 2017, inspired by the lush forests, mountains and wildlife that surrounded him throughout his life. Combining lush ethereal melodies and organic atmospheres with deep synthetic bass lines, Phurn yearns to create a palette truly his own. After Moving to Denver in 2020 and crafting remixes for artists of the likes of Comisar, Phurn is quickly making a name for himself in the electronic music scene.
