October is #DisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth! KBTC Public Television partnered with Federal Way Public Schools to create this series of videos. We're using the power of media to uplift young voices.
#AbilityAwareness is a video series produced in partnership with neurodivergent scholars and scholars with disabilities enrolled in the Federal Way Public Schools Employment Transition Program. The Employment Transition Program helps students develop skills in areas such as employment, personal management, life skills, and leisure/recreational interests.
Participating in the video project helps students build skills in interacting in professional situations and develop confidence in expressing themselves. Through video, audio, and animation, these young adults share their perspectives on topics important to them.
