I love what I do. An artists comes in, and I try to share in their vision and help them communicate their musical thoughts. It's an arduous task to always be the "5th Beatle", but it's worth it in the end. When the project is over, I usually walk away with a willingness to incorporate what I have learned when I go out and perform as a musician. Sometimes, it's about the music. Sometimes the music is a vehicle for something far greater. Some artists view their recording time as therapy or meditation. Some artists use it as healing time. It's an overwhelming challenge at times, but it always makes the world just a little bit better. I am blessed.

Since March, Blissman Studios has had 47 musicians record either as artists or for other arrists on projects ranging from rock, jazz, soul, country, folk, etc. Been fun, but crazy busy!😎

Fun recording session yesterday with local band Suspicious by Nature. They knocked out drums/bass/rhythm gtr and scratch vocals for 10 tunes in one day. Yowza! Here they are in their two natural environments. The studio and on break "assuming the position". Came naturally to them, for some reason! ;)

I am so tha thankful for the tremendous bounty of work in the studio this year. I have had a blast working with so many talented artists. Full CD recording of the Washington National Guard Band, A CD and DVD instuctional book by Seattle drum guru Garey Williams, creating and recording tracks for both the Miss Washington and Miss America Pageant, mixing down a CD for Seattle based The Full Circle Jazz Ensemble, and numerous projects for various artists recording everything from Rap, Jazz, Rock, Gospel, contemporary Christian Rock, etc. I am truly blessed to have these wonderful experiences!

I had a session about a month ago with a wonderful musician who played both Penney Whistle and this 1850's Concertina! It was so well in tune, it was quite spooky! Never mic'd up a Concertina before, thanks for the advice Interweb....! ;)

Wonderful recording session today with a young gentleman from the Fort Lewis band who is recording orchestral trumpet parts for one of the elite military bands in D.C. So much fun to hear the Brandenberg Concerto piccolo trumpet part being executed with such precision!

Whew! Blissman Studios is busy! So greatful to all the wonderful artists who I am currently working with. Garey Williams is working on a great instructional book/DVD, I'm mixing a rap R & B for a group from Alabama, I'm mixing a recording for local jazz ensemble Full Circle Jazz Ensemble and I'm working on several recordings for local artists!
