BIG THANK YOU! To everyone who came out to support us at the Tacoma Church of Christ yesterday for the book launch. It was so much fun having everyone with us to support our new business!

The purpose of our business is to bring together our community by sharing the culture of the indigenous POC of the North Americas including the Caribbean islands. Through fellowship, education, and community service, we help bring back a cultural tradition of tribalism. ‘As We Would Say Back Home’ isn’t just a collection of sayings, it is also a small peek into the very unique culture of Jamaica.

Once a Jamaican, always a Jamaican - no matter where we may roam. In fact, the farther we go, the more we appreciate the sound of home. As We Would Say Back Home is a publication which will keep authentic Jamaicans tethered to their roots.

The phrases and words of advice, abuse and everything in between are so relatable the reader will have many 'aha!' moments. Since some of the phrases are not unique to Jamaica, non-natives will also garner the pleasure of these time old sayings and (hopefully) gain an interesting insight, maybe from a different perspective.

For sure, these sayings have helped to shape the author's life. Her hope is that this book will enable some of the readers to happily reminisce on some of their own lived experiences, and that the others will enjoy another sample of the rich culture Jamaica has to offer.
