Dinner & Lights With The Claus’

Sunday, December 8th is almost here. Dinner starts at 4:30pm up at the Activity Center and will last until 7:00pm. At 5:00pm meet us up at Taggert Park for our first ever Lighting of the Christmas Tree. Mr. & Mrs. Claus will be there to help us light up the Park and then they’ll make their way to the Activities Center for all the kids. Palmyra Community Foundation is serving up a Spaghetti Dinner, Deserts and Drinks. This is a free will donation and we had an amazing turn out last year and are hoping to make it even bigger this year. There will be an ornament station for the kids to make ornaments and add them to the Christmas Tree in the Park. Can’t wait to see everyone!

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on Dec. 3 regarding the county’s updated solar energy regulations. After hearing from about a dozen speakers, the commissioners approved the regulations with one significant change: measuring the 1,000-foot setback in the regulations from a non-participating landowner’s property line rather than from his or her residence.
