Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of our Skid Steer Operator Training, held in partnership with Dovetail Landing, Skills for Success, and Alabama Veteran. This inaugural training session marks the beginning of a dynamic collaboration aimed at providing valuable skills and opportunities for our veterans.

The training, which took place at Dovetail Landing, was specifically designed for veterans, equipping them with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become proficient and safe skid steer operators. This initiative is part of CACC's ongoing priority to support workforce development and provide pathways to success for our community.

Jeff Lynn, President of Central Alabama Community College, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Dovetail Landing: "We are very proud of our partnership with Dovetail Landing. Their commitment to supporting veterans aligns perfectly with our mission to provide high-quality education and training opportunities. This collaboration allows us to extend our reach and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served our country."
The program was met with enthusiasm and dedication from the veteran participants, who demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and professional development.

The hands-on training included:
•Understanding the skid steer machinery
•Mastering operational maneuvers
•Adhering to safety procedures
•Maintaining industry standards

Michael Barnette, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development highlighted the importance of workforce development: "Our partnership with Skills for Success and Dovetail Landing is crucial in our efforts to provide veterans with the training they need to succeed in today's job market. By offering programs like the Skid Steer Operator Training, we are not only enhancing their skills but also opening doors to new career opportunities. We are devoted to continuing this partnership and expanding our training offerings for veterans."

Participants gained technical skills and received support and guidance from instructors and mentors, ensuring they are well-prepared for the workforce. The program's success is a testament to the collaborative effort and dedication of all parties involved.

Alana Centili, Secretary of the Dovetail Landing Board of Directors, emphasized the organization's mission: "At Dovetail Landing, our mission is to support veterans in their transition to civilian life by providing them with the skills and resources they need to thrive. Our partnership with CACC and Skills for Success reflects this commitment. Together, we are creating a supportive environment where veterans can gain valuable training and build a brighter future."

Adding to the celebration, Brigadier General (Retired) Robert Holmes, Executive Director of Dovetail Landing, shared his thoughts: "We are honored to collaborate with CACC and Skills for Success in offering this training program. The resolve of our veterans is unparalleled and providing them with these opportunities is a small way to give back for their service. We look forward to more successful training sessions and continued support for our veterans."

The successful completion of this training is a significant milestone, and CACC looks forward to continuing this partnership and offering more training opportunities in the future. Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and dedication.
