OK MINIONS, LISTEN UP! I've received some distressed emails about my two games on Saturday Fire & Fury does World War I (again) on the 1914 Yser Campaign, pitting French Cuirassiers against German machineguns. They all reference that (and God knows why, but I have included a link to this clearly poor attempt at Allied propaganda below) British cavalry charge at the beginning of the movie Warhorse.

Do not be deterred! This is a movie, fiction, Hollywood History, but most of all it involves BRITISH CAVALRY and British cavalry DOES NOT HAVE ELAN!!! So drop by, we'll try to find you a spot to play, and marvel at the clanking breastplates and thundering hooves of the 4th and 7th Cavalry Divisions explode this disreputable myth forever! En avant!😤😤😤

The Belgians have held in Northern Flanders, so the Germans shift their main attack South. More Belgians and an entire French cavalry corps await them, ready to rumble. The Hun have machine guns, but the French have sabres and ELAN! Its Napoleonic Fire & Fury for the Great War 1914! Rules taught, beginners welcome, experience with Age of Eagles II or Fire & Fury helpful, but not required.

My latest article for Wargames Illustrated, and while it does have an Age of Eagles II foundation for scenario design (hey, I wrote the rules, so obviously it's the set I know best), it's still written so you can drop the battle on the table and play regardless of what rules you use.

Well, damn, this is embarrassing. Evidently a few years back Age of Eagles hit the BIG TIME with a game on the 1809 battle of Wagram at the Wargames Holiday Centre out of Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK. Just pick a weekend and the WHC provides board, all terrain, all figures. The verdict? "The guys came from all over the country and in one case, from the other side of the world, Australia, hello Mr Cook. The Brigade system worked extremely well with some huge formations slugging it out for quite a while." Here's the final AAR with LOTS of pictures!

Here at the Wargames Holiday Centre, we like to think that we are versatile enough to support the majority of gaming systems.
