Winter Driving Safety Tip of the Week
Be more observant. Visibility is often limited in winter weather conditions. Slow down and watch for other vehicles that have flashing lights, visibility may be so restricted during a storm that it is difficult to see the slow-moving equipment, but even when the sun is shining, road conditions can change in a moment when driving through the mountains in winter. Be alert and follow these safety tips:

Have you heard about Firewise USA?

Every year, devastating wildfires burn across the United States. At the same time, a growing number of people are living where wildfires are a real risk. While these fires will continue to happen, there are things you can do to protect your home and neighborhood as well as your family’s safety. The Modoc Fire Safe Council provides residents with resources and support to become recognized through the Firewise USA program.

Get involved in the community and help out Sierra Bella Lanes! 🎳

Here's a message from them regarding donations:

"The bowling alley has been a cornerstone of fun, friendship, and community for decades, but we’re at a critical crossroads and need your support to keep this magic alive.

All 8 of our pinsetters need to be replaced — a necessary upgrade to ensure smooth operation and continue providing the bowling experience you love. But that's not all. To meet ADA accessibility standards and welcome everyone to the lanes, we will be leveling the floor. Unfortunately, the current seating (1970s) is bolted down and will be damaged during removal, meaning it all has to be replaced as well.
The good news? Together, we can make sure Sierra Bella Lanes stays the community's entertainment hub for years to come!

How You Can Help:

Donate directly to the renovation fund.
Share this with friends, family, and anyone who loves Quincy and bowling in Plumas County!
Host or participate in fundraising events for Sierra Bella Lanes.
Visit and support the Alley Bistro even if you do not enjoy bowling.
Let’s rally together to preserve this community icon. With your support, we can secure the future of Sierra Bella Lanes and continue building memories for years to come.

For donations of more than $25, Sierra Bella Lanes would like to give you a bowling pin from years gone by (as long as they last). If you are the creative type, we invite you to bring it back as an art display in our new LOT 31 side yard."
