Meet Micah Rojas, a dedicated member of Lassen County Farm Bureau for the past six years. As a foreman at The Dow Ranch, Micah grows alfalfa, small grains, and grass hay—ensuring the agricultural legacy of Lassen County thrives.

"I’m a Farm Bureau member to support an organization that advocates and fights for the interests of all farmers and ranchers. Farm Bureau has lobbied on behalf of myself and others on numerous policies that directly affect us," Micah shared.

For Micah, Farm Bureau is about connection and contribution. "I joined so I could connect with other farmers and ranchers and contribute to the work the Farm Bureau has done and will continue to do."

Pictured with his wife, Samantha, and their daughters, Eloise and Evelyn, the Rojas represent the future of farming—a future Farm Bureau works tirelessly to protect.

When pipes freeze, the water expands, and it can split or break your pipes! When temps drop below 30°F, be sure to insulate your pipes and keep your faucets dripping.

Looks like this black bear didn't get the memo that it is winter. Maybe some encouragement will do the trick!

Bears at Lassen Volcanic NP

I don't wanna see a bear in Winter
They're in their dens asleep
I don't wanna see a bear in Winter
When the snow is oh so deep
There's nothin' to eat in Winter
And so they hibernate
Oh, I don't wanna see a bear in Winter
But in Springtime it'd be great

In Springtime up in Lassen
The bears'll be comin' out
The snow is slowly melting
And the grass begins to sprout
The bears are really hungry
From months of sleeping sound
They're lookin' here and everywhere
For any food that can be found.

Park Ranger, Gary Merrill
(Sung to the chorus of "When Its Springtime in the Rockies," written by Robert Sauer & Maryhale Woolsey)
