Two years post treatment we now use this page to inspire others and give hope. Welcome to I’ts Crihfield (aka Victoria For Victoria)
We started this page 9 years ago to spread awareness and rally support for our first born daughter Tori, as she battled cancer. Since then we have had an addition to the Crihfields. Which is why we wanted to update the name of the page so we can include her in th
e continued journey to support Tori, rally awareness for pediatric cancer and celebrate the victories of life. ARCHIVE Victory For Victoria: Victoria Ann Crihfield was born on June 17th, 2014. She suprised everyone by showing up 8 weeks early. Born at LB memorial hospital, Tori spent the first couple months of her life in the NICU. Mom and Dad practically lived at the hospital as they waited for Tori to gain enough weight so they could take her home. Tori finally made it home and life was perfect for about 6 weeks. Then on October 3rd, mom took Tori in for a routine check up, and to have her eyes check out. Her pupils were "sundowning". She was rushed in for CT that showed an obstruction, which was blocking her natural draining pathway for her CSF. Last friday, we had a 6 hour brain surgery and we were lucky enough to get 100% of the tumor out. So close to being in the clear, the labs came back and our world came tumbling down. She was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT) is a brain cancer that only has around 30 cases per year and happens in only 3/1,000,000. It is a very aggressive cancer and our only hope to beat it is a very intensive chemo therapy & radiation regiment. These treatments on a 3 month old baby could have long lasting effects developmentally, The scope of the deficits are impossible to predict. However, my wife and I know that we must do everything we can, utilize the tools available, and stay positive and strong through out the process. We start chemo mid October, 2014 and the road ahead is a long one, that is why we will need all the love, and support we can get. We appreciate you all so much and i know with your help we will beat this, and we will have Victory For Victoria. Victory For Victoria:
