I’ve lived in this home for 5 years and have never had a dining room. Last weekend, all that changed. When we moved into this house, I went ahead and painted all of the trim yellow, with no real plan for what the room would eventually be. I half heartedly turned it into an office that was never used and since then it’s been a place to hold boxes and other things I was too lazy to carry out to the garage. If you have a room like that in your home, this is your sign to do something with it. The amount of joy this dining room has brought me is unreal. We no longer have to gather around the kitchen island for meals; we can sit down at a beautiful old table and have a proper meal together. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. The table is probably my favorite part of the room because I found it at in Asheville before it was horrifically devastated by Hurricane Helene back in September. has always held such a special place in my heart and, as I wait for them to rebuild, I feel so much gratitude, sitting at this special old table, that it didn’t end up among the wreckage.

When people ask me for my top design tip, it’s always to bring antiques into your space. They have an unmatched ability to bring so much soul to any room. There is not a single room in my house that does not have at least one antique piece in it (honestly there isn’t a room in my house that doesn’t have multiple antique pieces). I am also loving the way that my new rug grounds the room and the fun pop of color brought in by my floral painting. I am a huge fan of mixing old with new. Anyway, I am rambling. In summary, my new dining room is giving me life and if you have a room you aren’t using, do something with it! It will give you life too.

Personal post because I need this one to live in the feed 🥹❤️ My baby girl went to her very first homecoming dance over the weekend and I just can’t believe how beautiful and grown up she is becoming. It happens so fast, guys 😭 Farris did my makeup for a Halloween party and then got herself all dolled up for homecoming in the same night. I kind of love that I will forever be randomly dressed as a cat in her first homecoming photos.

I dropped Farris off for school this morning, still wearing my new lounge set because they were too cozy to take off. I had full intentions of getting dressed in time to pick her up. Sadly for Farris, the only thing I actually did was add socks and moccasins to the look.

My sweet, tender-hearted, strong-willed, too-smart-for-his-own-good, handsome bud turned 12 years old yesterday 😭 here’s to him never losing that little tic where he closes one eye when he’s feeling embarrassed ❤️ I love you to the moon and back Charlie Barley.

I woke up this morning reallyyyy feeling like Fall. I threw on a pretty Fall dress, I made a hot chai latte, I even put a pot roast in the crockpot. Then I walked outside, realized it was 90°, and promptly ran back inside (with my tail between my legs) to change 🫠 Who else is so ready for sweaters and pumpkins that they are just being completely ignorant and pretending like the predicted high for the day is fake news?

Thrifting books and then arranging them by color has proven to be a very polarizing topic 😅 I, personally, fall in the camp of “you do you, Boo”. For some people, like myself, my brain sorts things by color. Even the apps on my phone are organized by color. I know that, when I want to flip through my Normal Rockwell coffee table book for example, I look for the tall skinny book in the central red section of my bookcase. Some people memorize books by author. That’s just not me. But I love that there are so many different types of brains in the world and so many different ways of thinking.

I’ve also read a lot of comments from people who think it’s odd to buy books in bulk from a thrift shop for the purpose of filing up a bookcase. To these people I would like to say “don’t knock it till you’ve tried it”. I sometimes spend HOURS going through the books I have collected this way. I feel like every time I go to my bookshelf I am finding some new special treasure that I had previously overlooked. If you are as fascinated by old books as I am, I highly suggest spending some time at your local thrift shop. I promise you, you will find some really special gems. Ask anyone who knows me well, my books are some of my most prized possessions. And combing through them to see what new treasure I will uncover is probably my favorite rainy day activity ❤️📚

I have been so excited to share my bathroom renovation with y’all! The bathroom was one of the last rooms that we touched since purchasing this home 4.5 years ago. It was an eye sore from the beginning and brought me zero joy. By the time I got around to redoing it, the shower door had completely fallen off and I was using a tension rod with a shower curtain to keep the water from getting all over the floor. When I made the decision to finally renovate it, the number one thing I wanted was to have a bathroom that brought be joy. And boy did I achieve that 😂 It’s still not finished (is anything really ever finished)? I need to work on hanging some more art and I am still holding until I am able to afford my dream bathtub someday (see the last slide) but it is INSANE the way this bathroom has already been transformed. It makes me so so happy. Scroll through to see the before pictures!

HUGE shout out to who worked tirelessly with me to help my vision come to life. Their handmade tiles are so beautiful and so colorful. They really were a dream partnership for me! We work with them on the show a lot too; they are just so wonderful to work with. I also want to mention who helped me with all of my beautiful fixtures. Plumbing fixtures are not my strong suit so it was really wonderful to have some hand holding in that department!

Here are some of my favorite photos from last Saturday’s episode of ! Mayuri and Shane were such a fun couple to work with and it was such a treat to be able to transform their home the way we did. We were super proud of this one! Do you have a favorite room?

I also want to mention that all of the upholstered furniture from this episode was sourced via ! They really are a one stop shop when it comes to interiors. They have everything from sofas to beds to outdoor furniture to rugs to wallpaper to lighting (and beyond)! All of their upholstered pieces are custom, with an infinite amount of fabric choices! I have a sofa and two of their storage ottomans in my house (and I have my eye on their cabana chairs)! Everything is just so wonderfully unique and I highly suggest you go check them out!
