The Patrick County Diamond Youth Softball Team won the first game of the state tournament at Patrick High School on Monday night. It was Patrick County 12 - Fort Chiswell 2. Patrick will play at 6:30 tonight (Tuesday) in a second game against Fort Chiswell. The game will be played at PCHS; WHEO will broadcast the game.

It's Diamond League All Star Softball on WHEO tonight (Monday) at 6:30. This is the first trip ever to the state play-offs, which will be played at Patrick County High School. The Diamond League All Stars Softball Team is composed of 11 and 12 year-old girls. Patrick County will host Fort Chiswell and it's the best 2 out of 3 games. There's a game Monday and Tuesday night at 6:30 at the high school. It'll be a double-header Tuesday night if necessary. Patrick County is coached by Mike Gregory, Carter Gregory and Steven Fain. WHEO will be broadcasting the games through the generosity of a local supporter of youth sports in Patrick County.

The Patrick County AAA Minor Team will represent District 1 in the Diamond Youth Minor League State Tournament on July 5 in Appomattox. They will be facing Goochland at 3:00. Ozone will also be in Appomattox, game time TBA. WHEO will broadcast the Ozone game. Coach Pitch is in Dinwiddie playing Madison Heights.

Patrick County Minor All-Stars won last night, beating Alleghany 11 - 1. They play for the championship tonight (Wednesday)at 6 pm at the Grayson County Sports Complex in Independence.
