Highway 81 in Stromsburg has been under construction since April, and it looks like little progress has been made. Phases 4 and 5 were to begin in June with a detour. Now it’s August and they are not to that point yet.

The Sons of the Legion in Stromsburg are planning to replace the paper roster at the Stromsburg Cemetery that has been behind the glass case near the stand. They have worked on a final draft for the last 18 months with three different ideas.

Kale Gustafson (Osceola Boys Basketball) was selected for the 2024 NCA All-Star basketball game which took place last night at Lincoln North Star High School. Here are a few pictures. Kale ended up with 6 points and 5 rebounds, according to PCN stats.

OSCEOLA - Best friends Val Marak and Emily Carlson started balloons for their kids’ birthdays. They started playing with balloon arches and someone reached out to them for an event. That was the beginning of Balloon Bliss. The moms say they “love doing it and have so much fun doing it together.....

Allen Robert Willits, age 68, of Clarks, Nebraska, passed away July 14, 2024 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in Osceola. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

OSCEOLA - The Polk County Fair kicked off with some events held prior to the official week. Tuesday evening 4-Hers participated in archery (the second year for this event) and Wednesday afternoon they participated in the culinary challenge and horticulture.
