I created a short a comparison video with the H Plus & EVO2 pro v3. Thanks to John Mitchell @ YuneecSkins my H Plus is back in the sky and I got the camera dialed in. I initially thought it was toast. After flying and shooting the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus and an EVO 1 for a couple of years I picked up the Autel EVO2 pro v3. Just got the EVO so this is an early comparison of the 2 1inch sensor cameras. All and all 2 very different cameras and each has it's strong points. I will use both but for different projects. The EVO2 pro v3 is a workhorse with mission capabilities and high ISO for shooting at night. The H Plus with the C23 seems best suited for cinematic scenes due to its retraceable landing gear, pan and tilt camera control and a robust controller. The EVO2 pro v3 has a small smart controller that is 6 1/6 wide and 3 5/8 high. Small in comparison to the ST16s with the H Plus.

The Typhoon H Plus is a 6 rotor drone with a 360 degree pan as well the ability to fly in winds to 33 mph. Both have full 1 inch sensor cameras and can shoot DCI 4K at 60 fps. I also fly/shoot an EVO 1 4K 60fps that is great for interior work in ATTI mode.

Bar Set for closeups for Mark Edwards rock mocumentary "You Know You Like It" Started shooting this in Nov. 2019 shot through mid March 2020. Shut down until May 2020 for some B roll (Covid protocol compliant shoot) and just finished the last 3 scenes this June 13th 2021. Once edited this project should be hilarious. lol

I picked up a Panasonic UX180 a while back and needed to shoot it to see how it looked. Instead of random stuff I called my friend Carrie Sass and asked her if she had a nonprofit that might like a short video gratis. I ended up doing a piece for the San Joaquin Historical Museum at Micke Grove.
It turned into a multi media piece with the UX180, Lumix G7 and the Autel EVO drone. This is a rough cut of the piece. Click though to Youtube to view. Best viewed at 1080p

It looks like we will resume production on The Aurora Restoration Project Episode 2 at the end of March. There has been a fair amount of work done over the past year. Looking forward to working with Christopher Willson and his crew to reveal what has been accomplished on board and what is yet to come.

You can also see some photos I shot on their new website created by Sass Public Relations. The Museum is currently closed, like everything else in SJ County, until we reduce our numbers. Not much going on here at jcomm during the pandemic. I am just about done with a multi-camera edit of the Stephanie D. Band "To Carole With Love" live show at Hutchins Street Square. Fun project I shot with Don Setero doing a multi-track live mix which has just been dubbed, mixed and mastered. The edit is complete and I'm in the process of doing the color grading and syncing the audio. Here is a sample tune we did as a rough cut and mix. The entire show should be done by the end of the month. .

Shot this a few months ago. Interesting restoration of the MV Aurora. A 300 ft ship that was featured in the 007 movie "From Russia With Love". One day she will be completely restored to her previous glory. Right here in Stockton.

Just got to test the Peau 3.97 Jimmy Oliver with ShadowQuad installed in the CGO3+ on one of my H480's. Used a Yuneec dark UV even though it was overcast. This is a first pass focus but I was impressed with the narrower FOV and the increased focal depth. Still working at getting camera settings and creating an RGB curve for post production for the lens. Needs a little more tweaking but as I said I am impressed! I've been editing a spot for Stockton Auto Glass today. Spent most of the day in the edit bay where I have 4 computers including my audio system fired up and it is nice and warm. Came out into the rest of my abode and it is cold in here!
