DeVaul Publishing congratulates former editor/reporter Philip L. Watness for taking five awards at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association convention on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The 2024 awards include one first, two seconds and two thirds, all in the news category.

The Pioneer is in Group 1 (circulation up to 2,000 subscribers).

Watness retired in May after a nearly 13-year career with DPI.
