On this week's show (5/19) we celebrate World Goth Day with an hour of goth, death rock and darkwave from 1979 to 2024. So, dig through those dusty boxes and find your AquaNet, black eyeliner and clove ci******es for more than a glance into the abyss. 5-6 pm only on 106.3 WQSV Staunton streaming and archived.

This week, we lost an iconic musician, engineer, producer and die-hard defender of independent musicians, Steve Albini. From his creations with Big Black and Shellac, to his production work with bands like Pixies, Nirvana, Slint, Wedding Present and Jesus Lizard, he was a powerhouse in the Chicago music scene and influential world-wide. This week's show will be a tribute to Steve Albini, his music and the music he helped make happen. Strap in, it's going to get noisy. Sunday, 5-6 pm EST streaming on WQSV.org and 106.3 FM.

I guess I'll be playing some Big Black and Shellac this week.

I guess I'll be playing some Big Black and Shellac this week.

The Shellac and Big Black frontman, who recorded classic albums by Nirvana, Pixies, PJ Harvey, and more, has died of a heart attack

What will you find when you glance into the abyss? The jagged, jittery energy of post-punk, the dark gloom of goth, the angry chaos of no wave, the sensation of dancing alone to cold wave, maybe you will find the need to embrace your own existential dread or maybe the abyss will just glance back. And wink. Tune in Sundays from 5 to 6 pm for A Glance into the Abyss and discover what lies beyond. Only on WQSV.org 106.3 fm Staunton.

On today's show (1/7), since the great snowmegedon prophecy failed to materialize, I will be playing songs about snow and ice, plus songs about radio transmissions, since we're still having technical difficulties. Yes, WQSV is still broadcasting, but we're only streaming until the antenna hardware is fixed. So, tune in from 5-6pm EST on WQSV.org

This week's show (11/5) will feature songs about heavenly bodies. No, the other kind. Planets and moons (and I probably won't even play "The Killing Moon"). Tune in Sunday from 5 to 6 pm EST to hear Part 1 of Songs About Astronomy. Stream it live or listen later at WQSV.org
