after battling staph infection from laying on the moist FL ground most of 2024, the girls finally have a nice + solid floor installed! next we will get the wall up to divide it so they have 2 kidding stalls for babies due in March 😍🐐

we butchered our first pig raised on our land last week 🐖 i fed Porky everyday, twice a day - for a little over a year and now he is feeding my family 🥹 kind of a full circle moment.. feeling so blessed to be able to know exactly what went into the meat we are eating. today i am finally beginning to render all the lard we were able to harvest from him!

the 👑queens👑 of the homestead 🐐🩷 they are both purebred ADGA registered Nubian does. Raspberry is the black and white one and Shelby has the white stripe on her midsection! these girls give us fresh raw milk daily. Shelby is dried off gaining weight and hopefully having babies next year. Raspberry is still in milk but her production is declining and we’re thinking it’s because she is also expecting babies in November 😍 sending off blood to confirm her pregnancy this week!
