Fabricating Facts Talk - Since its emergence in the early 60s, behavior genetics has functioned primarily as what the historian of science, Michael Gordin, terms a âcounter-establishmentâ science. Dr. Emily
Merchant, a historian of science and technology at UC Davis, will give a talk entitled âFabricating Facts in Behavior Genetics.â It will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20th from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in History Corner, Building 200, Conference Room 307. The Panama Canal has been in the news lately. In âErased: the Untold Story of the Panama Canal,â Marixo Lasso traces the history of the Panamanian cities and towns that once formed the backbone of the republic. Many of these were erased at considerable cost to a way of life when the canal was built in the early 1900s. The talk is open to Stanford students, faculty and staff and will take place at Bolivar House on Friday, March 7th at 1:30 p.m.
