January 12, 1997 - 28 years ago 💜

On a four hour layover from Los Angeles to Iowa, I left the St Louis airport (you could do that easily back then) and went to Northwest Plaza Mall. was working that day as a manager at Structure. That encounter would eventually change the trajectory of both of our lives.

We love to share the story because it's an example of one day, one four hour window, one "random" meeting can change our lives when we are open and we trust the unexpected and release our own plans.

For the next 28 years (and counting) we would build a business of "random encounters" at concerts, food courts, sporting events, countless discoveries at and even traffic court....

Challenging people to dream BIG
Including ourselves.

On January 12, 2025 - we know 2024 tried to take us out but it just made us stronger. We have vision and dreams that have had to be on the back burner for the past few years but today is a new day.

To everyone reading this, it's a new year.
Don't settle for familiar, comfortable and easy. Every day we are given is a gift. Make the most of it 💜

We learned many things in 2024 and moving forward in 2025.

1. Life is fragile. You never know when things can change.
2. Be flexible and adaptable and open.
3. Cherish the sacred little things in life. Appreciate what you have.
4. We love the model business. We love the "behind the scenes" people in it, agents, casting directors, photographers. They are our people.
5. We love our models. When you do that you put yourself in a vulnerable position that may hurt you. That's not going to stop us from doing it. Mother is love. Period.
6. This is a big one...being completely transparent....there were situations last year that made us question or doubt this...but we now know, we are valuable. We are rare in this industry. We are respected. Thank you to everyone in our lives who helped us believe that again.
7. It's our turn to pursue our big dreams. Now is the time. We believe anything is possible for our models, we now believe it for ourselves. The vision is BIG. It's a God sized dream. Audacious, bold, risky. Go big or go home. ❤️

We love the people in our lives.

Three decades of seeing before anyone else does. "I see something in you."
And then, weeks, months, and more often than not YEARS of encouraging, teaching, developing, nurturing.
Mindset, lifestyle, skill set...

We always tell them to be selective in who they listen to because along the way there will be more that don't understand,
Then those that do.
When things do take a turn and they find success, trust me, suddenly everyone will say they believed in you along the way...

Another important note:
A few of the agents that were here for Tribute commented they really appreciated our honesty and candor about the modeling industry as a whole....so here's a BIG one.

There are a few remaining agencies out there that function in an outdated and unethical practice of saying to models as they are gaining traction, "You don't need your mother agency anymore. Leave them."

The ones who were there when nobody else was. The ones who made it happen and brought you into a world you didn't even really knew existed. Life changing stuff...

To the models out there who listen to such nonsense... it speaks to your character or lack there of.

To the agencies who still think that's a power move, you're biting the hand that feeds you. The culture of such agencies is toxic. We just wait to watch it unravel because it will.

To the great agencies and managers out there who know and value what it really takes to get someone in a position to pursue a global fashion career and the teamwork it takes to make it happen, THANK YOU.

The energy and enthusiasm on fittings day and backstage on show day was palpable... for some, months and months of preparation brought tears of pride & joy afterwards, which of course meant the world to the entire team.

Having experienced decades traveling the global fashion week seasons, we have often said some of our most cherished memories took place backstage.
There's nothing like seeing first hand all that goes into a production.

Tribute is so much more than a fashion show. It's two days of celebration, opportunity, connection and community.

Saturday morning we had a forum filled with the 26 agencies here in Saint Louis from around the world, sharing their insight and expertise with our models and their parents.

We have said countless times through the years the modeling industry is often misunderstood and finding legitimate, concrete direction and advice is sadly hard to come by. We have dedicated our lives to providing honest impactful guidance to everyone we can. This group of agents and managers had so much to share and it was incredible for all who participated.

A big part of our development weekends focuses on their communication skills and learning to tell their stories. We were proud of our models asking questions and engaging in conversation.

Taking ownership in their careers and finding their voice is so important.
Immense gratitude to all who participated.

When we were back in the venue and worked on the opening of the show, we instantly knew it was the perfect place to showcase the talent of Dianne Isbell

Dianne is a mainstay in the Saint Louis fashion community. She is ever present with a smile on her face and an encouraging word. The models absolutely fell in love with her. It meant the world to us at rehearsal with a tear in her eye thanking us for including her. It was a grand opening that was very well deserved for such an elegant, lovely woman. It was an honor to showcase your hats Dianne.

We have thought long and hard about sharing what is happening in our lives and believe it's the right thing to do.

Tribute was special this year & and a reminder this is bigger than the two of us. We value our models, their families, our friends new and old in the fashion world, the Saint Louis community, our Tribute sponsors and those who have supported Mother through the decades. We are most grateful for the incredible community of people God has brought in our lives.

We have been pretty candid about this year. It has been particularly challenging on virtually every front. Our business took some heavy hits, but we made pivots and adjustments & we are excited for what is unfolding. Mother is in a good place & we are excited for the coming year. It's going to be a great one.

2024 brought an overwhelming degree of health issues for Jeff. Chronic pain from lifelong issues with his foot and back, a painful case of shingles, pain in his neck which let an MRI and CT scan. The doctors found a non cancerous meningioma brain tumor.

As a family we made the decision to have the surgery to remove the tumor & it is scheduled this Thursday December 5th.

We believe in the power of prayer and we are asking for those who feel the same to keep him and the medical team lifted up in prayer. We are trusting that all will go well and these next 6 weeks will be a time of restoration and healing.

Jeff is strong and a valiant warrior and next year will be his best year yet! We have weathered way too many storms to let this take us out

God is good.
