Hello, friends!

It's difficult to process that Thanksgiving is almost here because it's still 70 degrees here in St. Louis!!! REALLY?!!! I'm not going to complain......

Speaking of fall, we would like to let you know that

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 13 YEARS, WE ARE MAKING PUMPKINS!!!!

Attached is a photo of a sampling of the pumpkins that we’ve made. They will be available for purchase at Third Degree Glass Factory shortly. Right along side us, dozens of Third Degree artists have also been making pumpkins and other fall-themed items. They will all make their debut at

Third Degree Glass Factory on Friday, Sept. 15th at the monthly Third Friday event from 6 - 10 PM.

If you have never attended a Third Friday, you are missing out!!! It’s a family-fun evening of glassblowing demonstrations, hands-on opportunities in the kiln shop, live music and other entertainments, good food, and a full-service bar. You can also peruse the gallery and find yourself a treasure or a great gift. A really great part of it all? Admission is FREE! Pumpkins will be for sale during regular gallery hours after Sept. 15th, which are Tuesday - Saturday 10-5.

Spring is on the way, and we are READY for it!!! We hope that you are well and happy!

LaVonne and I had a sweet spring surprise recently:

Two of our tumblers were chosen to be featured in the March/April edition of designSTL magazine! Yay!

We have also been making some “snazzy trees”. We think they go so well with the adorable snowmen our friend, Bill, makes. Both our trees and Bill’s snowman are for sale in the gallery at Third Degree Glass Factory. If you have never been there, you should definitely treat yourself to a visit!!! “snazzy glass” in a nutshell

LaVonne Deck and I (Eve Cascella) are the artists of “snazzy glass”. We are longtime friends! We began our glassblowing journey in 2010 when my oldest son became engaged. Motivated by the desire to create for the bride and groom a personal wedding gift, I sought glassblowing lessons at Third Degree Glass Factory, and recruited LaVonne to take the lessons with me. After the wedding gift was completed, we were HOOKED on blowing glass!!

We are are currently devoting most of our efforts to the creation of holdable hand blown tumblers of all shapes, sizes, and colors….with the emphasis on COLOR! Our pieces accent the wonderful fluidity, movement and depth of glass. We don't use molds - all of our tumblers are shaped by hand - and we rather enjoy allowing the glass to "shape itself" as well! We make the occasional bowl or paperweight or ornament, but what we like to make most are tumblers!

Snazzy glass pieces embody the imperfect, the unexpected, and the unusual with a touch of class. The motivation behind our creations is to bring joy to the everyday lives of people through colorful, unique, usable works of art.
