Todd Narrol of Columbia, Missouri, has cycled the circumference of the Earth nearly five times and pedaled almost halfway to the moon.

Ten years ago, on Dec. 29, 2015, he vowed to ride his bike every single day without fail. Since then, he has logged more than 122,000 miles over nearly 3,650 days of pedaling.

Averaging 33.65 miles a day, he has ridden when temperatures are as high as 114 degrees and wind chills are minus 60. He has cycled in 42 states, including Alaska, and around Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Occasionally, he’ll take off and ride to St. Louis.

“I’m the bike streak guy,” he said. “It’s created an identity for me, which means it’s going to be very rough to give it up someday.”

We first reported on Magic Dragon Trails and its plan to construct a network of interconnecting natural-surface trails at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, in January 2025.

As of last fall, construction has begun, with crews and equipment clearing a path at Three Seasons Road. This will be a one-mile trail that will connect to another section of trail due to be built at Nichols Road. In the end, the result will be 2.5 miles of trail.

The master plan calls for 70+ miles of trail throughout the area, connecting Osage Beach to Ha Ha Tonka State Park, an then from Versailles to Eldon.

It's not too late to take part in Make America Burpee Again, a challenge that started in St. Louis in which participants do 100 burpees every day in January.

In year one, 300ish people, most of them in St. Louis, did 900,000 burpees. Last year, 1,236 people around the world did 3.3 million burpees.

The theme is "Fall down. Get back up. Together." We all fall down. We all get back up. We must not do either one alone.

The Missouri Dept. of Conservation (MDC) recently expanded LaBarque Creek Conservation Area in Jefferson County, thanks to fundraising efforts by Open Space STL.

Open Space STL purchased 15 additional acres from Jenna Walls to add to the area’s existing 1,270 acres, bringing the new total acreage of LaBarque Creek Conservation Area to 1,285. The purchase was made possible by Open Space STL through donations from the Mysun Charitable Foundation and the Robert Trulaske Jr. Family Foundation. Walls sold the property for $1,000 per acre below the appraised value to help enable the purchase and provide additional protection for the watershed.
