Baseball Hall of Famer Henry Louis Aaron (February 5, 1934 – January 22, 2021) was born and raised in Mobile Alabama. Nicknamed, Hammer" or "Hammerin' Hank", was an American professional baseball right fielder who played 23 seasons in the major leagues from 1954 through 1976.

As one of the greatest baseball players in history, Aaron spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves and two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. He broke the long-standing home runs record held by Babe Ruth and remained the career leader for 33 years, until Barry Bonds surpassed his famous total of 755 in 2007.

He hit 24 or more home runs every year from 1955 through 1973 and is one of only two players to hit 30 or more home runs in a season at least fifteen times.

On Monday Washington DC Judge Tanya Jones Bosier of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia granted the trademark of the right-wing proud boys group to the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church after the group failed to pay a $2.8 million default judgment given in 2023 when they didn’t show up in court. Here are some talking points from last night's visit with residents in the Jeff-Vander-Lou and McKinley Heights neighborhoods:

Recorder of Deeds and Candidate Michael Butler:
As mayor, I'd continue the office of violence program and will be focused on changing a lot of the funding from ARPA funding to full general revenue funding, putting it in our permanent budget.

Mayor Tishaura Jones:
“I established the office of violence prevention based off of national models that I saw across the country... and we've been able to reduce homicides by 70%. In some neighborhoods.”

Ward 8 Alderwoman and Candidate Cara Spencer:
“You know, from my perspective representing communities that experience a lot of crime and have a lot of violence in particular at La Salle Park neighborhood... I want to see those reactivated with the Office of Violence Prevention because those partnerships were very, very valuable to the neighborhoods.”

Candidate Andrew Jones:
“We have to increase the training for our men and women in blue so that they can execute the job that's necessary. We need to fund the police. We need to get more police out in the streets and programs like Cure Violence.”

The candidates have more visits scheduled around the city.

During last night's Grammy red carpet interviews two reporters, Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria, from the Associated Press heard it from the social media streets as they rudely interrupted Babyface mid-sentence during his interview with them so they could talk to new Missouri born pop star, Chappell Roan. OF COURSE they have since apologized, but one social media user said, “Disrespecting THEE Babyface while interviewing him is absolutely insane, somebody getting fired!”

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum shared she had a good conversation with Trump, Mexico would reinforce its border with 10,000 members of its National Guard to prevent drug trafficking into the US and as a result the US would pause tariffs for one month.

Trump confirmed the news in a social media post as well.

"I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico," Trump wrote. "It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican Soldiers on the Border separating Mexico and the United States. These soldiers will be specifically designated to stop the flow of fentanyl, and illegal migrants into our Country."
