Last weekend our film, Raising Spirits | The Big Muddy Dance Company, played at the ALTV Movie Awards and took home Best Documentary!

It was a delightful shock to also be honored with the Diversity Award. It's a privilege to share people's stories through our work, but being able to celebrate and share the triumph of the arts after such immense struggle meant the world to us.

Congrats to all the filmmakers who participated, it is a joy to be celebrated among friends.

Enjoy the inspiring history of Principia School in this short Emmy-nominated documentary.

We were asked to create a film that introduced Principia’s past, present, and future. With 125 years of history, hundreds of hours of archived footage, thousands of photos, and multiple books to serve as a guide - it was no small task - but it was a joy.

Every monumental moment in this school's history was carefully documented and the school's archive dept. provided us with photos from the 1900s and footage of the campus dating back as early as the 1920s.

We chose to focus our script on "building", not just the expansive school facilities but the structure of education at the Principia. The foundation was built 125 years ago, but it continues building today.

Don't mind us... we're just over here rewatching any videos we can find that include sunshine and sand!

Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas granted Dannah's wish to go to Hawaii, and while filming we were reminded of the Hawaiian saying "Noho me ka hau’oli." It roughly translates to "be happy" or "choose joy." We're grateful to work with organizations like Make-A-Wish who truly spread joy (and warmth) to the people they serve.

So on this snowy Monday, remember to stay warm and choose joy!

We did it! Our film, Raising Spirits | The Big Muddy Dance Company, won an Emmy!

This celebrated film also received a Telly Award and Chadwell Ruthsatz & Ria Ruthsatz were recognized with "Best Director" in the Documentary category at Cinema St. Louis' St. Louis Filmmaker's Showcase this year.
