We lucked up and caught UP 1982 today because my son,Koran wanted to try a new location. We went to DD road in Columbia,Illinois just to see what would come rolling through. Twenty minutes after being there this gentleman pulled up and came over and asked if the special engine had come through. I told him we didn’t even know about it.We were just trying a new location. He told us UP 1982 was coming,so Koran of course wanted to stay.Shortly thereafter it came rolling through,the third of four engines on an intermodal train. #trains #railfanning #hobby #trainspotting

My son Koran calls me while I’m at work around 4pm telling me that UP 1983 was in Washington,Mo. We talked for a lil bit and got off of the phone.About an hour later he calls me again and says UP 1983 was in Webster Groves,Missouri. He said it was headed to Joliet,Illinois. I told him well we can catch it next time. He said,we can catch it today cause it will still be in St.Louis when you get off work.I told him I doubt it.He said,If it’s still in Saint Louis when you come home,you owe me a couple of dollars.I said,Fine lol.I really didn’t think it would still be here.Actually I was hoping it wasn’t lol.Anyway I got home shortly after 6pm,and my son runs out the door telling me he is watching the live camera and UP 1983 is still downtown. UP 1983 is the first Heritage Unit that he caught when he really got interested in railfanning,so I knew he wanted to see it. I told him come on and we drove downtown. He knows I rarely say no 🤦🏽♀️.
