Gotta love when an actual Country artist drops the hammer on "country music" with 808's!

Hey country folks. ain’t the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country. #1 country artist on earth listen’s to nothing but rap. Openly says he doesn’t really know any country music. Gotta respect his honesty. The machine points to a black woman who’s making a statement about marginalized people being removed from the conversation altogether, and somehow we all act like the entire pop industry didn’t just ambush roots music. These “country boys” been *singing* over trap beats for years. So what’s different now? Authenticity. Many of those business folks called me early on. They had whole albums pre written and recorded ready to just plug me in. I have receipts. It’s harder than ever to keep the public’s attention. They said and I quote “we wanna get into country music where you have audience loyalty.” Hot today, forgot tomorrow. I don’t need to put down a black woman to advance my music. That’s just embarrassing to the idea of America and I got no respect for it. Somebody asked me why I listen to the other day. Easy. He’s genuine. A true story teller. The best hip hop sound to come out of Texas in this century. The challenges country music faces aren’t unique. It’s an issue in every *genre*. I don’t have a problem with Americana. I have a problem with being compartmentalized by the music business. Outlaw as a *sub genre* of country was artists standing up for their rights against a rigid system. Ain’t no reason to imitate and if you ain’t about the fight. Texas forever.

In a town that loves to hate itself, Matt Klose was at least always sincere. He was always willing to give (take pictures for free, or play for free), while others would often complain about everything, for free.

Soccer Dad Pod headed out to the Family Arena to catch the play their way into the playoffs as arguably the hottest team in the league. But, we also went out early to support one of communities own, teammate, and first responder Nate Spiess. Officer Spiess was in a tragic accident that will require a long road to recovery. His teammates played a tribute match where all the proceeds will go to helping him on this journey.

Help Artists While Supporting a Community

Gaslight Lounge is a new, unique venue focused on music and art in St. Louis. Gaslight Lounge is the first of its kind—a space that provides music lovers with “behind-the-scenes” access to the creative process of audio and visual documentation of musical performance. The venue (located at 4916 Shaw Ave., St. Louis, on The Hill) houses a recording studio, a bar and lounge area, and a walk-up food counter from the popular Cha Cha Chow food truck. Gaslight Studio is focused on providing the local music scene with a new, affordable, and relevant path to recording and video production. Our goal is to bring this art to our community in a way that rallies support and interest on a level usually reserved for October Baseball. We have a sick amount of talent. We want to help put it centerstage. The venue is now booking local, regional, and national artists to experience Gaslight’s visionary approach to recording musical performances. Spots are also available for youth and high-school music groups and “rock schools” that want to document their songs and performances while parents and classmates take in the music. #stlisamusictown
