The statue of Hestia, the 2,200-year-old eternal goddess of the sacred hearth, found in the past years during the excavations in the Ancient City of Aigai in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, awaits the day when it will be exhibited in the new Manisa Archeology Museum.
The goddess Hestia is the goddess who is the protector of the city and provides the unity and health of the city. The inscription says that this assembly was dedicated to the goddess Hestia. Ancient sources said there were statues of the goddess Hestia, but this is probably the only example ever found.
