"The Cathedral Choir is pleased to announce the Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols to be held on Saturday, December 14th at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, 260 State Street, Springfield. This is a long-standing tradition in the Diocese for many and promises to enrich all who attend in their preparation to celebrate the birth of our Savior."

This month I have been playing some church services. Violin is a nice instrument for playing solos in church and also for accompanying choirs. I also have a wedding coming up. (I can play classical, folk, and pop, etc., just about any favorite piece or song for the bride and groom.)

Bear with me. Many of you know I am a violinist and I also teach a few instruments. But also I do some composing/arranging. Not grand, impressive works, but smaller, simpler things. For example, this summer I set two poems by Yeats: one is for soprano, flute, and guitar; the other for tenor, trombone, and piano. I also wrote music for two Thanksgiving-type texts for my Three of Cups partner partner and I to sing in November for a zoom church service. I am going to post two short recordings here, one is of a biblical text set for three women and the other is a goofy song I wrote for our Three of Cups' children's CD. Listen if you're interested, and if you know anyone who might be interested in commissioning a song or arrangement, pass my info along. Trying to stay musically active while there are no gigs to play. Thank you! 🎡
