I got home later than I wanted yesterday, but I've been dying to get the 1436 jon boat out without the motor to see if I could paddle it around by myself. And... I paddled it just fine. My only struggle was with how easy it is to turn and it was windy. Made for some tricky paddling with a regular wood paddle. It'll definitely be easier with someone else in the front to help control the nose. Overall, fantastic hour on the water.

Ordered my 2 oldest boys new 33 rod and reel combos the other day and took them out today. 2 tree snags and 2 lost bobber, swivel, and hook combos and we were in business. 🤣 No fish caught, but we had a good time and they've already asked about going again tomorrow. 😁

Went to Fellows Lake just north of Springfield and did a little fishing today. Didn't catch anything, but sent a new lucre into the oblivion. 🤣 The swivel let go on a pretty solid cast and the lure kept flying. 🤣 Can't complain. Still a good trip.

The other day, I went fishing for rhe first time in quite a while. And I remembered that even though I use the same 5 spinnerbaits 🤦‍♂️ My tackle box is hard to close. I have so much crap in the bottom. That's when I realized that I don't even remember what is in the bottom. 🤣 So, I cleaned it out today and saw that I had several plastics that weren't even opened. 🤦‍♂️ After a little organizing and rigging a few plastics, I was able to lay out some "new" lures and clear out some space in the bottom. Now, when I go fishing again (probably 6 months from now) I will have a little better assortment to chose from. 🤣

What is up, my people! Long time no talky. So recently, I started playing a little more with solar. I happened to have these small low voltage solar panels. 3.3 watts and 5 volts. (Yes. They measure 6 volts) I have been using one of them off and on to charge my little 4,000mah battery pack just to see how long it takes to charge. I finally spliced both of them together and tested them and recorded some video! Check it out by clicking the link below!!!

I always want to do, but never actually do. So tonight, I decided to take some advice from the legendary , and get off the couch and do. While my wife and kids were at church, I cleaned up from a days work and set up the "new to us" tent in the dark. One of those rare finds. A Carlsbad Fast Pitch 6P Dark Room tent. The boys were so excited when they came home and found me in the backyard finishing up. Tonight, I do. My 3 boys are asleep and I sit here in the tent "porch" listening to the night sounds of the wind in the trees, cars on the highway, and trains in the distance. And glad that I took a few minutes to do this.

A few days before Christmas, it dipped into the negative digits temperature wise, here. No matter the weather, I still have to go to work at my regular job. Even though I live in the city, it is still a 15 mile drive. You have to prepare for it. My daughter caught a pic of me getting ready and a pic of me leaving for the day. Magellan camo thermal shirt, Polaredge green thermal shirt, original tactical 100% cotton pants, and Stryker Bolt boots. In the second pic I have added my Magellan waterproof, green, jacket, random cold weather hat, Moab 6 sling bag, and my milsurp cold weather sleeping bag.

I have recently gotten interested in small, portable, chargers. I picked up this Feeke YD-886 solar charger from Amazon for around $20. I'll keep it in my go bag to charge my phone and maybe some cameras when I am out hiking and such. It says it is 36,800mah. It has a fairly bright flashlight built in and a small compass on the back. The Nitex Pro rechargeable flashlight. My favorite in house go to flashlight for everything. Need to find something in the garage? I grab the Nitex Pro. Need to run out to the truck in the rain at night? I grab the Nitex Pro. Need to figure out why the dogs are freaking out in the backyard? I grab the Nitex Pro. For reference, that opossum on the fence is about 75 feet from the kitchen window, where I took this picture. The white plastic and the house beyond the fence is about another 75 feet past the fence.

My new Element came in for my XD9 the other day and I forgot to share so here it is! This one also fits my TP9. So far I am on the fence about it. I will wear it for a week or so and then I will have a full review ready and I just might review it on also. Stay tuned!
