Canted Angle Film Festival

Hi, CAMrades, I wanted to update briefly the status of last year's festival entrants.

I have an ailing family member in critical condition. I've been AHOD for the last two months with my family, but I have the primary role in their life.

My film work is not being done.

I don't have the emotional bandwidth to return to the entrants and choose the winners, at the moment.

The festival is still open and will be as great as last year. My hope is that my family member levels out soon and I can return my energy to my work.

Tell your loved ones you love them. Call them ASAP. Tell them why you love them. Be there for them, when they're in need. Try to anticipate their needs, when you think they're not asking. Care and compassion rule.

Hi, all! I just wanted to update you on the festival. I have an April online debut, though the show was originally slated for January. I've been pushing the show back to accommodate life, and while I apologize for the delay, I know it's been the right move. I'm almost finished judging, so be on the lookout for confirmation or denial emails coming soon! - Jed

I need two friends for the CAFF movie judging team. Currently, we have many movies to sift through, including some that will be arriving in physical form to my home. I'd need these two individuals to have quick and efficient work ethics, with judging turnaround being most crucial. If you'd like to skewer someone's independent film (respectfully, and through my lens), please reach out!

The onus for CAFF is uplifting the filmmaker! In my experience with local and regional festivals, I found the voice of the creator, through the festivals, severely lacking. I created the festival because I felt slighted by the corporations and individuals with focuses on money and brand connectivity. I strive to provide a place where the filmmaker with limited exposure can speak about their film in front of an audience of like-minded audience members.

There is nothing like talking to an audience member who "gets" the message in your movie! Some of the very best memories for me, when looking back at my movies, were these moments when someone dug into the psychology of "why", in terms of what my movie meant in subtext. The Canted Angle Film Festival is that specific place FOR filmmakers.

Submissions for the festival are open on and growing! Submit your art, and encourage your friends to submit their work, too!
