First read of 2025: The Will of the Many by James Islington. I'm not much of a sci-fi/dystopian girly these days due to teaching junior high English in dystopian's heyday. But I did ardently LOVE this book. I even rated it five stars on Goodreads. My rating system leaves something to be desired as I either don't rate the book or I rate it 5 stars. It's really all or nothing for me.

And this book was everything. It had enough fantasy elements to keep me interested and downright good writing. There was world-building! Character development! Morally gray political intrigue! Essentially, it kept me turning the pages.

What is/was your first read of 2025?

One of my favorite things to do is to curate items to create personalized gifts. For example, this year I gifted my boss a toiletry bag filled with cutesy emergency supplies to keep on hand at work. Nevermind that I included shaving cream because I thought it was lotion. It was still fun to put together.
