We interact with our customers on a daily basis whether it be at church, the grocery store, or the high school football game. We have an interest in seeing our communities succeed.

Net Vision is bringing Gigabit Fiber Internet to Lamar.

Net Vision is the recipient of a $12.4 million USDA Broadband Internet Loan under the RUS program that will allow users to connect to a Fiber Internet Network. Everyone within the city limits of Lamar and Lamar Heights will be able to subscribe to speeds from 100Mbps to up to 2.5Gbps symmetrically. The construction process will begin later this year. Once completed, there will be approximately 47 miles of distribution fiber that will pass 2,419 homes, businesses, schools, and other community organizations delivering reliable, up-to-date Broadband.

Growing up in the rural area of a neighboring county, owner, Larry Coose, understands the need for dependable cutting-edge internet for businesses and residents. He believes the lack of fast, high-speed Internet affects not only businesses, but the people who live and work in the community. Reliable Internet provided by a fiber infrastructure enables access to unprecedented levels of information, allowing people to communicate, learn, work, earn money, and take advantage of the many streaming services that provide today’s entertainment, news and sports. We are proud to announce that Net Vision Communications is the recipient of a grant from the Missouri Broadband Infrastructure Grant Program whose goal is to bring fiber to every home in Missouri. Net Vision is the recipient of a $13.5M grant to help complete a $17M fiber infrastructure build throughout our designated service area in the northern half of Dallas County and a portion of Hickory County. We are excited to provide a fiber network that will allow residents and businesses to connect at speeds up to one Gig. Net Vision is committed to providing access to quality internet both for economic development and improving the lives of people in the service area.
On Monday, March 27 representatives from the Missouri Department of Economic Development visited Net Vision. BJ Tanksley the director of the Office of Broadband Development, the state’s leading agency for expanding access to high-speed internet, spoke with Net Vision's administrative employees. Alex Buschjost, a Grant Specialist from the MO DED, and Holly Elliot with the Dallas County Department of Economic Development, congratulated Net Vision on their commitment to aid in providing internet access to every Missourian.

Job Description

The Broadband Technician position is a full-time position, with the primary focus to test, service, install and repair various telecommunication network elements.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Required:

Basic networking understanding
Copper cable testing and troubleshooting
Self-starter and ability to work independently
Attention to detail ability to perform record keeping and documentation with a high level of accuracy
Ability to work in various environments including inside, outside, inclement weather, crawlspaces, new construction, attics, roofs and on a ladder
Customer service oriented
Safety conscious
Valid state driver’s license
Willingness to work occasional overtime, occasional off hours and work on-call rotation
Responsibilities

Follow all company procedures and guidelines
Perform basic installations, disconnects, reconnects, service upgrades and downgrades, and relocates for residential single family, multi-family and/or multi-dwelling units
Locate buried network facilities
Install and repair inside/outside cable for internet and voice services
Conduct customer site survey to determine optimal fiber optic, copper service or wireless radio placement
Educate customers regarding their existing and new services, inform them about other Net Vision services, and propose solutions to customer problems.
Physically fit to perform job which includes lifting 75lbs
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday, Rotating weekends
On call
Experience:

Telecommunications: 1 year (Preferred)

1.) Low voltage cabling installation and termination

2.) Fiber Optic Cabling installation and termination experience is preferred

3.) Heavy Equipment experience such as:

a.) Mini Excavator/Excavator

b.) Boxer/Ditch Witch Mini Skid Steer

c.) Directional Boring Equipment

4.) General dirt work and hand tool proficiency

Requirements:

1.) Dependable Vehicle

2.) Willingness to learn and follow Company SOP's.

3.) Articulate and motivated

4.) Proficient in communication both written and verbal

5.) Excellent social skills as you will be interacting with new and potential customers.
