Do you know who sees a lot of bad DJ's? Venues. I hear stories all the time and they usually start with: "You won't believe what happened at last weeks wedding with this so called DJ."

This venue in California has had enough and dedicated an entire page of their own website on the importance of hiring a "PROFESSIONAL" DJ >

https://www.imperialpalacebanquethall.com/reasons-to-hire-professional-dj/

Many engaged couples want to save money on their wedding, and as a result, they often settle for their “friend who’s good at making playlists,” to be the evening’s entertainment. Wedding Music—DIY or DJ? | A Practical Wedding

DIY or DJ at your Wedding Reception? Article from 2013 when the DIY fade was in full swing.

What the article DOESN'T talk about is the EQUIPMENT required to make DIY work. Yes you need much more than just an iPod or smart phone. The time and expense could better be used else where if you leave one of the most important wedding vendors to, well an actual vendor like a professional DJ who has the equipment, will set it up and run it for you.

PLUS the article also neglects to mention the importance of a great MC at your wedding reception as the cocktail hour, dinner hour and formalities is typically half of the wedding reception 🤔 >

We are good DJ's but even we need help with websites, taxes, gear purchases, lighting, electricity requirements. That's why we hire a pro to help us. Shouldn't you hire a true pro to DJ at your next event? We think so.

12/15/2013

Training for DJs? Yes we do. Education for DJ's? Yes we do. Discounts on gear so we can keep our costs down? Yes we do. Hire a ADJA dj for your next event.

I called three plumbers, mechanics, lawyers, babysitters, doctors and I got three different prices. Each charged a much different price for what I considered to be the same job. I'm sure each had the necessary tools to do the job. So, why such different prices? Talent, skill, ability, and experience. Same with DJ's.

These are the questions you need to ask your dj. If they say no to ones you feel are the most important, call a DIADJA member.

12/08/2013

DJs deserve to earn a living doing our jobs. Between getting the gear to do the job, meeting with you to plan the job, and showing up to actually do the job, we put an average of 40 hours into each wedding. Shouldn't every dj be able to feed the family, go out to a movie, pay for insurance, buy the kids a new baseball, plan a future? The DIADJA thinks yes.

12/08/2013

If your dj has a group of other professional Djs that they can call on in case of an emergency, would it give you a sense of trust that in case some emergency happened you'd still have a successful event? We think so.

07/06/2012

Helping other pro DJ's so that our clients events are perfect. We do that. Helping guide couples so that they make smart choices thier events. We do that. Helping our community with volunteer events. We do that. Helping you save time with music knowledge and selections that fit your event. We do that. Ok you get the idea, properly trained DJ's can do almost anything and help your event in many ways. Call an ADJA Downstate Illinois chapter member to learn more.

06/18/2012

Being a member of the ADJA is more than just putting a feather in your cap, a plague on the wall. It is participation that defines the good from the best. Gaining knowledge, building a team, having a back up plan that works. When you look for a qualified, trained, educated DJ, Look to an ADJA local chapter member who shows up, helps others and shares knowledge. Not just a piece of paper to hang on the wall.

Outstanding article that every bride & groom should read PRIOR to hiring their DJ/MC for their wedding reception...

Thank you flirty blog for post what I've been trying to explain to brides for years. I'd like to touch on one other area though - every 'high end' professional I know of seeks additional training on a regular basis. That's true of make up artists, hairstylists, wedding planners, and yes, even DJ's...
