Police investigating officer involved shooting on Christmas Eve.
Springfield police investigate officer-involved shooting
Springfield, Mo. – On Dec. 24, 2025, at 9 p.m., Springfield police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2400 block of N. East Ave.
The suspect was holding the victim against her will. As officers were setting up a perimeter, the victim escaped the home. The suspect exited the residence with a gun pointed at officers. Officers then engaged and shot the suspect. Officers immediately rendered aid, and the suspect was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There were no other reported injuries.
The officers involved in the shooting incident has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. The results of a concurrent criminal investigation will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review.
