Getting to see Rob Peterson play bass in the Big Band Christmas tonight was such a joy. I am so proud of him getting to share his gift with the community, and the show was fantastic. Excellent work to everyone involved with the production, and I hope that you get a chance to see it as well. It would make even the Grinchiest heart grow a few sizes. ♥️

We were absolutely *honored* to participate in Gonzaga University's New Venture Lab! The lab pushed us to think bigger but stay grounded, crafting a model that’s ready to plug into other communities without losing what makes Trending Northwest special. It’s all about staying real and connected to the people we serve.

Working alongside graduate students, mentors, and business experts, we brainstormed innovative strategies for audience engagement, advertising, and operational efficiency. It allowed us to test ideas and refine our approach, and ensure we could grow while maintaining authenticity. They helped us develop a scalable media business model that stays true to our roots while being adaptable for communities across the country.

The students at the lab were the MVPs of fresh ideas. Their energy and out-of-the-box thinking gave us a new perspective on how to level up everything—from how we engage our audience to how we bring advertisers into the fold in ways that actually add value beyond a static image on a printed page. They helped us map out new ways to grow, like harnessing data we didn't previously have access to in order to make smarter decisions and finding tools to make running our operation smoother. It was like an extended jam session of creative problem-solving, and we walked away with ideas we can’t wait to put into action.

Overall, the experience not only strengthened our vision for local storytelling but also gave us the tools to expand it beyond the Northwest! Thank you to everyone who participated in this project with us - we are deeply grateful for this life-changing experience.
