Over 275 million people practice meditation worldwide. The US is home to the second largest number of meditators–second only to India. That means that almost 38 million people in our beautiful country regularly get quiet, hold space for themselves, and foster the mind-body connection.

I’ve said it a million times, but it’s worth writing. Our sweet community of Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and the surrounding towns is drastically underrated. We have all of the benefits of big cities (culture, diversity, a thriving art scene, a growing restaurant scene) and all of the charm and safety of a small town. With that, comes some amazing mindfulness resources. I’ve searched, visited, and tried and compiled a list of my favorites.

It’s dry January, so it’s the perfect time to start a new alcohol-free ritual!

She creates unique drinks for your daily ritual, your evening indulgence, and your special celebration.

Every drink I’ve tried is tip-top, thoughtfully created by Kayleigh from high-quality, organic ingredients. I love that she brought creativity, taste, and mindful indulgence to the world of coffee and cocktail alternatives.

Instead of imitating others or aiming for low-calorie, healthified concoctions, she starts with organic, whole ingredients and creates delicious, nutrient-dense drinks in a category all their own. My personal favorite is the peanut butter ashwagandha turmeric drink. It is made with your choice of organic Mylk (one of the cleanest alternative milk options on the market).

is a lizard’s heaven. I regularly visit Heat Praxia, but it is especially lovely in the winter! I like to book a room with a friend and chat while we sweat and take breaks in front of the red light panel! It’s a fun way to work up a sweat, connect with friends, and support a wonderful local business. I can’t wait for Heat Praxia to reopen in its new Sander’s Beach location! I’ve lived in Idaho for about seven years now, and my life and dietary needs have changed a ton over those handful of years, but one constant is regular breakfasts at in Post Falls. Regardless of my dietary needs and limitations, I’ve always been able to find something that serves my body, fills me up, and tastes delicious. Gut issues can make eating out tough, but I’ve always felt safe, taken care of, and nourished after a meal at The staff has never made me feel uncomfortable when I need to leave an ingredient out of my order or request a substitution.

My absolute favorite meal is the bacon, avocado, spinach, and cheese omelet (without cheese) with a slice of their homemade sourdough on the side. My husband makes a meal of the Ebelskivers and German potato pancakes, and we both leave full and happy.
