Can you feel the excitement in the air?

Bring the kids out to participate in the FREE Kid's Boat Pull where each participant will get a chance to have not only the best time but also take home some really great swag! The kids will be pulling an ATV and Small Boat combo provided by the Southport Fire Department. At last years event there were several kids pulling and having a great time showing both their strength and their commitment to be safer around the water. [Scroll through some of our previous posts to see photos and smiles of the kids and full teams from 2023]

We are putting the final touches together for our amazing FUNdraiser next week at Morningstar Marinas-Southport. The food trucks are confirmed, the amazing DJ and MC is doing his sound and equipment checks, teams are practicing and strategizing, and the Jack Helbig Memorial Foundation board and volunteers are working hard to make this the best event ever.

We cannot wait to see you at the Boat Pull, Saturday, November 2 from 1-4.

DUKE PROGRESS CANAL BRIDGE IS **OPEN***. PLEASE TRAVEL WITH CAUTION AS THE NEW LANE SHIFTS AND SPEED LIMIT IS ⚠️ 35 MPH. ⚠️

WE APPRECIATE OUR STRONG PARTNERSHIP WITH NCDOT KEEPING US UPDATED AND TAKING OUR CALLS SINCE THE CLOSURES ON SEPT.16. - Chief Coring

From NCDOT: Portion of N.C. 211 in Brunswick County to Reopen

Portion of N.C. 211 in Brunswick County to ReopenRoad closed after September storm
SOUTHPORT – A portion of Brunswick County’s N.C. 211 will reopen to traffic ahead of schedule after an existing bridge was damaged by a storm last month. The N.C. 211 bridge over the canal just north of Southport is scheduled to reopen to traffic mid-morning on Oct. 10. It closed Sept. 16 after a large amount of rain fell and caused extensive damage to the bridge prompting the N.C. Department of Transportation and its contractor to construct a detour onto the new bridge over the canal.
When the highway reopens, drivers will utilize the new alignment and bridge and then back onto the main roadway. Barricades, signs and pavement markings will guide drivers through this new traffic pattern. Drivers should note the N.C. 211 bridge at Dutchman Creek, which was also damaged beyond repair by the same storm, remains closed. Traffic will be directed to take Dosher Cutoff SE to N.C. 87. NCDOT and contract crews are also diligently working at this location and are hopeful to have it reopened by the end of the month. The department will notify the public ahead of it reopening too. Both sections of roadway impacted by the storm are part of the project to widen N.C. 211. For real-time travel information, visit DriveNC.gov or follow NCDOT on social media.

Well…it was a 50/50 chance. 😕

Since I advertised our Costume Party Ladies Night for so long, I hated to change the day/time to cause confusion. So I took a chance and hoped that we would, at least, have a decent turnout for our event. For those few that did come to see us…we are eternally grateful! In all honesty though, the event was a flop and the only possible reason for this is the afternoon/evening traffic issues in Southport.

So…here is my proposal:

👻 🌽 I know this is last minute, but we want to give you all a chance to take advantage of the specials we had running last night. Therefore, we will be hosting a Autumn Breeze Bash this Saturday and Sunday! 🍁 🎃

Come see us and save on goodies throughout the shop and get a chance to WIN a $35 Gift Certificate. More specific details are coming soon!
