It's always more challenging to recruit for an open position this time of year. So what do you do if you need to fill a role, and why are job seekers more reluctant to commit to a change during the holidays?

Our managing partner, John Salvadore, discusses these challenges in our latest blog post. https://grncoastalrecruiters.com/recruiting-during-the-holidays/

You’ve heard about “the war for talent” and “the great resignation”. The reality is that there is significant competition for qualified candidates due to companies growing over the past couple of years, the baby boomer generation retiring and candidates looking for new opportunities due to greater income or career growth desire and better work / life balance.

At the end of the day, it is all about supply and demand. A limited supply of qualified candidates and lots of demand.
GRN Coastal, a leading recruiting firm serving the construction and industrial trades, is conducting a survey to better understand candidate and company decision drivers and hiring processes. We have retained Channel Marketing Group to conduct this research to ensure candidate and company confidentiality.

The survey (https://lnkd.in/eivFsj72) only takes 3-4 minutes to complete. Respondents can request an executive summary of the results for free. Your input will be used to generate an industry white paper where we will share findings. All names will be kept confidential.

Thank you for your support.

Last week the US Department of Labor Statistics released their report for January 2021. Key results are below, but click the link for the full report.

The unemployment rate fell by 0.4 percentage point to 6.3 percent in January, while nonfarm payroll employment changed little (+49,000). The labor market continued to reflect the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it. In January, notable job gains in professional and business services and in both public and private education were offset by losses in leisure and hospitality, in retail trade, in health care, and in transportation and warehousing.
