The Brkthru Analytics Team met this week at our Detroit Training Center, and focused on how they will continue to improve the already stellar level of service they provide to our clients.

This group, led by Vice President of Analytics Kevin Repine, reviewed major initiatives accomplished in 2024 and mapped plans for 2025, focusing on continued improvements of insights and storytelling, integrating AI functionality in our workflows and how Brkthru can find even more opportunities to improve the impact of our client’s media campaigns.

We’re fortunate to have such a talented team of analytics professionals at Brkthru analyzing and interpreting data, because we know 75% of marketing organizations in the United States do not have even one analytics professional on staff. At Brkthru, we have 12.

As the Client Services Development Specialist, I work closely with the client services team and across other departments in developing new hire and ongoing department training initiatives, delivering and facilitating materials that promote engagement and recall, while also measuring and working to continue to improve training programs.

Fast forward 20+ years to working in advertising agencies with all types of media from newspaper, to outdoor, to TV/Radio, and digital, finding my way over to the vendor partner side has been a great experience!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠? Spending time with my family and seeing them enjoy something. We go to a lot of concerts together. We’ve been to shows from 80’s and 90’s cover bands to One Direction, Taylor Swift, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and more together.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? I was an Account Director. While it was hard to shift away from direct, daily communication with those team members, my new role gives me the opportunity to connect with them and others across the departments! Utilizing experiences from my previous role helps with many of the resources we are continuing to build for Client Services.

The ability to travel for work. I will happily hop in my car or plane and go to any town to work. For me, it’s a huge perk.

The Brkthru team of nearly 200 employees gathered recently at the Borgata in Atlantic City for our Fall 2024 All-Company Meeting with the theme of Brkthru Empire!

In addition to our typical semi-annual, all-company get togethers of business updates, key initiatives and department breakouts, this time we included an in-person signing day for our yearly One Day Sale.

Members of the Brkthru Client Success, Sales Development, Business Development, Client Services, Media, Strategy and Analytics departments worked side-by-side reaching out to clients to finalize orders, and those from Operations, Finance, HR and Organizational Management worked to process orders, provide updates and keep everyone energized.

It was our most-successful One Day Sale ever – we booked an impressive number of campaigns for current and new clients, locking in plans for Q4 2024 and to help clients get a jump on 2025 with upfront specials on paid digital media campaigns.

The Brkthru Empire theme continued in the evening with a celebratory dinner where employees came dressed in 1920s Speakeasy attire (congratulations again Karen Cuce and Andy Ernst for winning the contest).

We also welcomed new employees, celebrated anniversaries, and recognized the contributions of a special group of employees with Founders Cup, Platinum Performers and new Core Value awards.

This was an action-packed offsite, demonstrating again that a company founded on service to its clients and saying YES! accomplishes great things when we work together.

Congratulations Authenticators – You're Our 10th Brkthru U Graduating Class!

14 recent additions to the Brkthru team just completed their week-long onboarding and training during Brkthru U, becoming our 10th class since launching the program in December 2022. They named themselves Authenticators, and their energy, enthusiasm and passion was on full display.

The August 2024 class brings the total number of Brkthru U graduates close to 200 – new hires and veteran employees – who have graduated from this hands-on, interactive training that covers our commitment to service, Core Values and brand pillars, how we work and processes, department overviews, our clients and key verticals, and The Brkthru Way.

This week, our Detroit Hub (one of 19 regional employee hubs across the country) hosted the Authenticators for a dinner of famous Detroit pizza.

I’ve had previous roles as a Media Buyer, Search Engine Marketing Manager, a Sales Associate, and as a Barista. I believe my role as a Barista prepared me the most for my career - I learned to communicate & connect with the variety of customers I served, doing my part to create a memorable & inclusive experience. I would love to meet Patti Smith. She’s a true female punk-rock pioneer, singer-songwriter, author, and poet. I haven’t met her (yet), but I did share an airplane with her son on the way to host our Brkthru U February Class.

Brkthru Mid-Summer Hub Hangouts!

Brkthru employees beat the summer heat by gathering recently in their respective cities for our Hub Hangouts.

The Charlotte hub had a great time enjoying St. Louis style pizza. It was this North Carolina hub’s biggest turn out yet.

For its July hangout, our Cincinnati hub enjoyed relaxing pedicures and conversation, and after headed out to indulge in Brkthru employees' favorite day of the month - Pizza Friday!

Our Tampa hub had a great time bowling, having appetizers and endless conversation that made for a fun few hours. This hub welcomed its newest hub member, and two hub members realized they graduated from the same high school (one year apart). Rumor has it, the conversation was so great the bowling alley told this hub they were bowling too slow.

Our Hub Hangouts are an opportunity for groups of Brkthru employees in 19 hubs across the country to get together once a month at a location of their choosing to socialize and spend quality time together.

𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬? Cooking & baking is relaxing. I subscribe to magazines & buy cookbooks all the time.

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲? Christmas. I spend it with family & friends. There is food everywhere. Christmas back home is fun, festive, & full of activities. Makes me miss home.

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬? Rom Coms (especially late 90s early 00s), Disney. Marvel. Mean Girls, A Lot Like Love, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, 10 Things I Hate About You, Wolf of Wall Street. I have many shows that I love, but Friends is the one I can rewatch a million times.

Advertisers: Be Authentically Proud Year-Round

How can you better reach the LGBTQ+ market during Pride and every month, and be even more genuine and authentic? Hear from two well-known and respected leaders in media and LGBTQ market:

• Show your brand’s support year-round. Don’t just change your logo to a multi-colored background for a month as an easy marketing ploy.
• Make a charitable donation. Give to a relevant organization or good cause that helps to provide resources, supports or helps to the gay or LGBTQ community.
• Avoid “rainbow washing.” And if your company makes a mistake, own up to it and apologize.
• Foster an environment in your own company where everyone can be their authentic selves every day.
