We´d like to share with you Dennis biography written by his partner in crime and best friend Simon:
- Hux Flux - Bringing His Own Bio -
Hux Flux was the psytrance project and brain dubstepchild of the Swedish music producer Dennis Tapper, born in 1974 in Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. Already as a child he wanted to become an inner space rocket scientist.
The music style is an unusual blend of psychedelic trance and goa trance that is loved by fans worldwide and hated by the Rave Commission, the national Swedish culture police.
Dennis started to produce music in 1998 and his first hit "Time Slices" was released on the Koyote record label.
In 1999 Dennis started to work together with Jonas Petterson, producing the album Cryptic Crunch, with a hideous pixelated cover due to a print shop snafu using a low-res thumbnail instead of the full resolution image for the cover artwork. Jonas’ involvement in the Hux Flux project subsided in 1999 and he instead went on to team up with Johan Krafft on the project Logic Bomb.
At the turn of the millennium, Dennis instead began collaborating with his old friend and Henric Fietz. Their work resulted in tracks such as "Idiot" and "Bring Your Owl (sic!) Bios" and the release of their album Division by Zero which was a major success.
Hux Flux was recognized as one of the most established and well-known names in the psytrance scene that played at all the main psytrance festivals and parties worldwide.
Since 2005 Dennis was the single creative force behind Hux Flux and has continued to produce floor fillers such as “Finite Automata” and "Equivalent Equations" featured on the 2015 album Circle Sine Sound, released by Z-Plane Records (dumbfounded by Dennis earlier the same year), as well as the molecular gastronomy homage “Reflux”.
In 2016 Dennis diversified his genius talents further into the psychedelic ambient project Illuminus with Magnus Holte and they released the album Sweep Dreams.
Dennis most recent release from 2017 was the Hux Flux EP “Strange Things”, which also included a remix of Undercovers’ mega-hit “Imaginary Friends”.
This became an immediate success with huge online sales/streaming and further proof of his ability to reinvent his unique style for new generations of fans, who during their brief existence as sentient primates with too much spare time on a wet rock whirling in spirals through the universe (this being the inspiration behind another Hux Flux hit - “Monkey Business”), prefer to vibrate in synchrony with his discombobulating spacetime distortions rather than doing something useful - like paying taxes and being offended by memes on the Internet.
Rest in peace and fly with the angels Dennis ❤✨💫
