Had a great trip to Boise Idaho this past weekend. Had visits with Desert Sage Elementary in Boise and Stephensen Elementary on Mountain Home Air Force Base. As a Boise State Alumn, it was great to get up to the treasure valley to give back.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Oahu with my youngest son Tyler. While there, we stopped by wahiawa intermediate where I went to school for the 7th and 8th grade years while living at Schofield Barracks in the mid eighties. My father and I with the help of other volunteers, built the benches in the pictures for my Eagle Project for scouts. I felt a strong desire to walk the halls of my old school and remember and share some of the significance if that place. It was there in my 8th grade English class that a poet visited one day to talk to us about writing. That was the day that I discovered my gift for writing and set in motion everything that has become Grumpy Publications. I feel it is a powerful thing to ponder and reflect back on the seeds that were planted that have blossomed in our lives.
This pivotal 3 year period of my childhood in Hawaii changed my perspective on cultured, people, foods, and made the world a smaller place in my eyes. It opened my eyes to many new a unique characters and events that have boosted my desire to try new adventures.
