On July 22, 2024, at around 2:40 PM, Dunlap Fire responded to a vehicle fire on SR 111 Southbound, just South of the Scenic Overlook. Sequatchie County Sheriff's deputies and Sequatchie County Emergency Management Director Brian Rhueling also responded. Upon arrival, firefighters found a midsize SUV with the entire front part engulfed in fire. They quickly extinguished the fire and remained on the scene until the wrecker service could remove the SUV from the roadway....

Coach Gossett will be holding a try out in September for new students, those that didn’t make it earlier, or those that didn’t try out.

My name is Brian Gossett, and I am excited to be the new JMS boys basketball coach! I have been coaching for 10 years, with the last 2 years being an assistant for the JMS girls basketball team. I graduated from Marion County High School, where I played basketball. Aside from coaching, I have been a member of the Jasper Park Board for the past 6 years, and you can hear me on Friday nights in the Fall doing commentary for the MCHS Warriors football radio show. I have been married to my wife April for 4 years, and I have 3 children - Alayna, Brailyn, and Braxton, and 2 step children - Tyler and Braden. I am grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to this upcoming season and many more!

Students and staff will transition over to the new building during the fall semester. On Sunday (July 21), around midnight, a house on 30th Avenue near the intersection of Highway 108 in Grundy County was shot into. A total of 8 shots entered the home, with a few of the bullets penetrating through the other side of the house. Individuals were home during the time of the shooting, but no one was hurt. As of now, there are no descriptions of individuals or vehicles in this matter. If anyone knows or has possibly seen any suspicious activity around this time, please notify investigators with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has announced a $28,800 grant from the state’s Tire Environmental Act Program for the Bledsoe County Board of Education.
