🔔 Did you hear jingling bells and think it was a holiday delivery? Think again! 🎅🐾 This season, Santa Paws and the Hidden Lake Social Committee spread festive joy with over 150 handmade dog bone treats wrapped in red, white, and green yarn!

🏡 Hidden Court West took the crown for Best Dog Lover Block, with every home housing a four-legged friend, while Sandpiper Court came in second with just one dog-less house! 🏆🐕

❄️ As I strolled the neighborhood, I was met with excited tail wags and happy barks—though I’m pretty sure it was the treats they were after, not me! 😉 Even pups with allergies got extra belly rubs and love.

💌A Love Letter to Hidden Lake 💌 (shortened version)

I moved to Hidden Lake nearly 20 years ago, unaware I was stepping into something truly special. Having lived in multiple states and countries, I’ve never experienced the joy, peace, and community this place provides. From the changing seasons reflected in the trees to the sunsets over the lake, every view is breathtaking. But Hidden Lake is more than just a beautiful setting—it’s a vibrant, welcoming community. There’s always something to enjoy, whether it’s book clubs, Bunco nights, concerts, or friendly games of pickleball and co****le. Families create lasting memories here, with kids begging for "one more ride" behind the boat or "one more fish" before heading home.

What truly makes this place unique, though, is the people. Neighbors wave as they pass, stop to chat, and welcome newcomers with open arms. Generosity, kindness, and a shared sense of belonging define life here. The dedication to maintaining the beauty and spirit of our community is unmatched. I once received a race tee that read, "Hidden Lake—It’s a Lifestyle." But I believe a better phrase would be: "Hidden Lake—A Place Like None Other."

A Night of Holiday Hilarity 🎄🎁

Hosted by the one and only Renee El-Awad , our queen of holiday gatherings! 👑🎅

This year's Bunco night was our biggest yet—more players than Santa has elves! 🎲🧝‍♀️ Dressed in holiday finest, we rolled the dice, laughed ‘til our sides hurt, and indulged in the most festive spread. The appetizers stole the show—a table overflowing with savory bites, dazzling Christmas cookies, and a cheese board that could make the Grinch drool! 🧀🍪✨

🎄✨ A Magical Night at the Hidden Lake Christmas Tree Lighting! ✨🎄

The Annual Hidden Lake Christmas Tree Lighting was nothing short of spectacular! Orchestrated by our incredible Social Committee and sponsored in part by Terri, Lloyd, & Co. (), this cherished tradition brought neighbors together for an evening filled with holiday cheer, laughter, and pure magic.

🎅 Santa made a grand entrance, delighting children as they snapped photos and mailed their special letters straight to the North Pole!

🦄🦌 Mischievous elves, a unicorn, and a reindeer roamed the crowd, spreading festive fun.

❄ Special guests Frosty the Snowman, a lovable teddy bear, and Pluto the pup (played by the amazing Mary Pittman & Kyle Sonnichsen!) made surprise appearances!

🔥 Families gathered around crackling campfires, roasting marshmallows, and sipping hot cocoa & coffee, making s’mores and memories!

🎤 Karaoke caroling led by neighbor Paula LaPointe () filled the air with holiday tunes, creating a truly heartwarming scene.

Light French Onion Soup 🇫🇷🧅

My daughter recently visited Paris and raved about the French Onion Soup—so much lighter than what we’re used to here in the U.S.! 🇫🇷✨ It reminded me of my father’s Christmas Eve onion soup—rich, decadent, and topped with gooey Swiss cheese 🧀. While delicious, it certainly sat heavy in the tummy! 😆

Curious about the difference, I asked my daughter what made the Parisian version feel so much lighter. She noted the delicate crust, lightly flavored with cheese, that complemented rather than overpowered the broth. Intrigued, I set to work and crafted my own version—one that’s warming, satisfying, and perfect for the season! 🍲❄️
