Lisa's Month Before Christmas
12/22/25

Twas’ the month before Christmas and all over town
Lisa, the hat lady, was running around
The camera was charged and, in her hand,
Ready to take pictures all over the land
The town was all shiny and bright
With all the decorations lighting up the night
And Lisa in her Christmas sweaters and hat
Just took a last look back at the chair where she sat
When out in the community is where she would run
Taking care of business for the Mecklenburg Sun
Away to the meetings she would hurry to be
Taking photos, and notes and seeing what she could see.
The wreaths and lampposts lit up the street
The creativity of them all, a special treat
When what to her wondering eyes should appear
But lots of business people wishing her good cheer
She knew in a moment that this was her hometown
Where friendliness and warm hearts always abound
And she sighed and looked out into the night
Knowing that she was working and all was just right
She pulled out her camera and started taking hundreds of pics
Of Bringleton’s, the chamber, Nana’s attic, and just lots of clicks
Wilson’s, Pampered Faces. 5P’S, Sova CPA, and so many more
She ran through the town taking photos from store to store
To the top of the street, she walked, turned and looked back
Now she had to run to stay on her holiday track
As she hurried to meetings with food and fun galore
She knew she would be in for treats and so much more.
She attended, the PENMAC party, the SHVFD banquet and American Legion dinner too
The chamber Christmas tea party, and Cops for Kids to name just a few
And then she sold ads, saw clients and posted social media news
Keeping people in the know so they had things from which to choose
She did lives, videos and helped sell so many things
From Under My Hat Media good tidings she brings
Her hats are her trademark and she has more than one
She is also known as Lisa with the hat and Lisa with the Sun
She works all the time and tries not to let anyone down
She tries to be positive each day when her feet hits the ground
Not interested in drama she just wants to get the job done
So many things have changed in her 36 years working at The Mecklenburg Sun
And Lisa’s life has also changed and she moves along with it as best she can
She promotes her clients and success for them all is always the plan
She loves her jobs, her family and let's God lead the way
Her life is blessed even on a not-so-great day
She strives to do her best and gives it all she has got
Some struggles are real and perfect she is not.
With her writing, volunteering and helping others she is in a good place
She stays busy doing what she loves and will try to continue that pace.
She reminds all to be kind, humble and always sparkle and shine bright
And that’s a holiday wrap so Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
