For most college students, December is often about meeting deadlines, writing papers, long hours in the library and staying caffeinated. So once the semester ends, how are you supposed to spend your time? Outside of catching up on sleep and recovering from the previous semester, it can be hard to find fun ways to fill the remainder of December. This article will highlight various fun, festive ways to fill the limited free time college students have in December. And the best part? Most of them are $15 or less to enjoy!

When I was in sixth grade, I started thinking about college. Like most Hoosiers, my list included Indiana University and Purdue University. I did not know that IU South Bend existed, or that I would later earn a Bachelors degree from here.

Looking for a place to shop this holiday season and want to help support small businesses? Instead of buying into the ultra-consumerist frenzies of shopping malls in December (or simply just don’t want to bother with over-priced gifts), there are plenty of local businesses in South Bend to consider looking into.

This fall semester at IU South Bend, the Raclin School of the Arts fall Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) exhibition is a solo show! Perhaps due to a decline in enrollment during Covid-19, the BFA class of Dec. 2023 - which usually comprises at least half a dozen students - totals just one artist: Tamaine Derrickson.

After nearly four months of work stoppage and failed deals, the SAG-AFTRA strike ended on Nov. 9. While you might be excited for your favorite shows and anticipated movies to resume production, it’s important to know how we got here and what the future holds for all the workers involved.

On April 18, WGA members voted near-unanimously to go on strike – stop their screen-writing work – if a satisfactory deal with the AMPTP was not made by May 1. After lengthy negotiation…

Fall sports season is officially over at IU South Bend, and with winter sports getting into full swing, it is important to remember that our athletes are people too. The month of November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, which is a reminder to prioritize both physical and mental health. It's also important for men to realize how their physical health and mental health may be intertwined.

Studying abroad in college has many benefits. Not only are the trips lower in cost than they would be if taken individually, but studying abroad allows students to travel in a group with a planned itinerary. All students need to do is pay for the trip and attend classes.

As political discussions move into personal social media spaces, consumers can be confronted with a range of challenges. For many social media users, the influx of political content can be a source of irritation and stress; others think social media has no real effect on current events; others still believe it can be a beneficial way to help people get involved with issues that are important to them.

Discerning facts about global issues with complex histories is no easy task. Especially with near-infinite streams of information, which can report similar information while also telling completely different stories, it’s difficult to make sense of what is true and important. Part of the path to information literacy is understanding language.
