Upsetting news, friends. My painting ‘Nissenbaum, midday’ was included in a show called Visions of Somerville, set to open this weekend.
A few days ago, an a-hole in a ski-mask walked into the show and cut down my painting and that of another artist, then walked out with them. This theft caused the show to be immediately taken down and the opening reception- planned for this Sunday- to be cancelled.
In addition to the anger at the loss of my piece, I’m gutted for the folks who worked so hard to organize and mount this show, and the artists who were excited to participate. It’s a slap in the face to all of them.
If you know anything about the theft, or if you happen to see this painting out in the wild, please contact the Somerville Police department at 617-625-1600.
