JUST IN: A DC Circuit panel has rejected the Trump administration’s attempt to overturn a temporary order reinstating ethics watchdog Hampton Dellinger, whom Trump had tried to fire despite legal protections. The 2-1 ruling, with Biden-appointed judges Pan and Childs in the majority and Trump-appointed Judge Katsas dissenting, means Dellinger remains in office pending a February 26 hearing on the legality of his removal.

A key federal agency overseeing 15 million acres of public lands in California has halted some critical fire prevention work because of the massive freeze in government funding directed by Donald Trump.
