HELLo FiEnDs ... Welcome to Way Back Wednesday!! This is where we will travel through time ... just to check out the music!! Tonight, we will travel back to September 29, 1976, which was the release date for "All the World's a Stage" by Rush. This was originally recorded at Massey Hall, Toronto, Canada over three days of the iconic 2112 tour (June 11-13, 1976). This is one hell of a great live album that captures Rush in its most raw form. The live versions of 2112 and By-Tor and the Snow Dog, especially Neil's drum solo on Working Man, are simply something you NEED to experience!!

Then you have tonight's lineup, once again, something you NEED to experience!! With music from 👉 ERODED PRIDE, FROM HELL, Mercyful Fate, From the Grave, Danzig, The Mighty One, AC⚡DC, Cream, The Space Sharks, Fluffer, Robin Trower, Hermit's Maze, Buzzed & Loaded, UFO, Rush, P***y Ruckus, Ten Years After, Crowjack, Muddy Moonshine, The Beatles, MX The American, The Rolling Stones, Mick Pini & Audio54, ST. MADNESS, Blue Oyster Cult, Grüvediggerz4 / Mike Langley Music.

Grab those shovels and go dig up some friends for tonight's show. The Graveyard Shift goes live Monday through Friday evenings at 8pm PST / 11pm EST/ 3am UTC.

Also, swing by "The Room of the Dead." This live chat room has a live stream player (located at the bottom of the screen). Stop by for some GIF-enabled fun, great music, and fantastic people!!

HELLo FiEnDs ... Welcome to The Underground Spotlight!! For tonight's featured band, I went back to 2018. The band is The Psycho Season, and their album "Grunge River." This band brings in a vibe that takes me back to the days when Grunge ruled the world. The vocals are excellent, just check out their cover of Alice in Chains "We Die Young" which is spot-on excellence!! The rest of the album sounds like they released it in the early 90s with all of its grungy goodness!! So damn impressive!! This is usually where I would mention some of my favorite tracks, but I can't ... Why? This is one of the very few albums I have ever listened to, where every track is my next favorite tune!! One of my all-time favorite bands (mainstream or indy) Tune in tonight!!

There is also a very impressive lineup. Featuring music from ERODED PRIDE, FROM HELL, MX The American, Yellowtooth, Doomherre, Phantom Witch, The Mighty One, SZABOTAGEband, Bad Analogy, Warhog, Hermit's Maze, The Psycho Season, Sonic X Band, The Space Sharks, Mad Mulligans, Futhermuckers, P***y Ruckus, Kaos Krew, Flush, Factory of Art, Bat Hearse, Scanner, Warcoe, Hammerstar Band, Splicer, BÖNE, Shuulak, Blind Perception, Bagorah Project, ST. MADNESS, Crowjack, BLACK WHISKEY, Voodoo Ramble, Grüvediggerz4 / Mike Langley Music.

Hello, my friends. A few months ago, I wrote a couple of short stories that had a cosmic horror element mixed with a bit of an Egyptian theme. His name is Thotnmek'hu. I am toying with bringing him back for an encore performance. So, some background on him would only be the proper thing to do for him.

Name: Thotnmek'hu, the Unspeakable Horror

Background:
Thotnmek'hu emerges from the cosmic abyss, an entity so alien and malevolent that even attempting to comprehend its true form drives mortals to madness. This eldritch terror traverses the cosmos, drawn to the feeble vibrations of earthly existence, seeking to devour the very essence of life.

Physical Appearance:
Thotnmek'hu defies visual comprehension, appearing as a swirling maelstrom of void energy, occasionally revealing nightmarish glimpses of monstrous appendages and a single celestial eye that defies the laws of physics. Its presence distorts reality, casting a suffocating aura of dread upon the world.

Abilities:

Reality Sunder: Thotnmek'hu can tear through the fabric of reality, creating rifts that lead to otherworldly dimensions, each more horrifying than the last.

Existential Consumption: The Unspeakable Horror feeds on the life force of entire planets, leaving behind desolate landscapes devoid of vitality.

Cognitumbral Whispers: Its insidious whispers infiltrate the minds of the living, unraveling thoughts and emotions and driving victims to the brink of insanity.

Cosmic Desolation: Thotnmek'hu brings with it an entourage of cosmic storms, celestial phenomena, and eldritch phenomena that leave the world forever scarred.

What Makes It Terrifying:

Nameless Dread: The very utterance of Thotnmek'hu's name carries an otherworldly weight, inducing an immediate and profound sense of dread.

Eldritch Corruption: Thotnmek'hu's presence warps the laws of reality, turning landscapes into surreal nightmares where the rules of nature crumble.

Madness Incarnate: Those who glimpse Thotnmek'hu risk losing their sanity, the mere sight of its form etching indescribable horrors into their minds.

Harbinger of Cosmic Doom: Its arrival heralds an apocalyptic symphony of cosmic calamities, foretelling the inevitable descent into existential chaos.

Encountering Thotnmek'hu is a descent into cosmic horror, an encounter with a force that defies mortal understanding and threatens to unravel the very fabric of existence. The Unspeakable Horror leaves behind a haunting legacy, a chilling reminder of the fragility of life in the face of cosmic malevolence.

HELLo FiEnDs ... Returning to that same record store a few years later in 1980, I asked for something new and heavy, and he instantly grabbed an album for me. It was Black Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell." This album was the most influential to me, as I had started playing bass guitar a year earlier (1979). I instantly started working out the bass lines of the iconic Geezer Butler. This is one of my favorites to listen to, even today, this album exceeds my expectations every time I spin it. So tune in and crank it up!!

It's also Triple Shot Tuesday!! So get ready for more great music from ERODED PRIDE, ST. MADNESS, The Mighty One, Bad Analogy, Yellowtooth, BLACK SABBATH, BÖNE, Factory of Art, P***y Ruckus, Muddy Moonshine, Crowjack, MX The American, Grüvediggerz4 / Mike Langley Music.

HELLo FiEnDs ... This week, I will be playing the albums that had the most personally significant impact on my love of music. It started in 1975 when I got my first home stereo and three of the then-popular compilation albums. At 10 years old, I wandered into the local record shop, looking for something new. The dude behind the counter pulled an album from a box and suggested this one. This would become my first (of many KISS albums.) KISS "Rock and Roll Over." It blew me away as a kid, even today, this album still brings back many of those great memories when I listen to it. Do you remember your very first album?

Now, to the current day, while I still dig KISS (for the most part), my music taste has broadened substantially, and these underground bands are the future of music. Who knows, maybe some kid will hear their music and it will change their lives, as well!! Tonight awesome lineup includes music from ERODED PRIDE, The Mighty One, Bad Analogy, Hermit's Maze, MX The American, SZABOTAGEband, The Space Sharks, Warhog, Yellowtooth, P***y Ruckus, Mad Mulligans, Futhermuckers, Doomherre, Factory of Art, KISS, Kaos Krew, Flush, Bat Hearse, Scanner, Phantom Witch, Sonic X Band, BÖNE, Shuulak, Warcoe, BLACK WHISKEY, Bagorah Project, Blind Perception, FROM HELL, ST. HELLo FiEnDs ... Here is a quick flashback...In the first couple of years, struggling to get underground music to play on the show, a Finish promoter contacted me, then started shipping me some of the most incredible music on this planet. This period was called "The Finish Invasion." Much like the British invasion of the '60s, but far more cold and brutal! Tonight, I welcome you to, The Underground Spotlight. Here is where I will dig up and expose you to some great music from bands you should be listening to right now. Tonight we will be listening to one of the bands that was in the first wave of bands from Finland. Kaos Krew, man what a band!! These guys are what I would classify as hard rock with touches of doom and stoner metal added in, one of my favorites!! Kaos Krew will be releasing their new album called "Blackout." I have been listening to this one all weekend, and I just have to say, "Man, this album kicks ass!!" Such a great album, every track is extremely tight & solid sounding. They are on top of their game on this one; the vocals are awesome, as well as the crunchy guitar work. There is a touch of synthesizer that adds a sense of epicness to their music. So very well done!! Tune in and check these guys out!!!

There is also a great lineup for tonight. Featuring music from ERODED PRIDE, The Mighty One (Happy birthday Tim!!), Bad Analogy, Hermit's Maze, MX The American, SZABOTAGEband, Yellowtooth, The Space Sharks, Warhog, P***y Ruckus, Futhermuckers, Mad Mulligans, Doomherre, Eld Varg, Kaos Krew, Flush, Bat Hearse, Scanner, Sonic X Band, Phantom Witch, BÖNE, Shuulak, Warcoe, Blind Perception, BLACK WHISKEY, Bagorah Project, FROM HELL, Factory of Art, ST. HELLo FiEnDs ... Welcome to Way Back Wednesday!! This is where I will take you all back to a better place and time. Tonight, we will be traveling back to Japan!! The date is October 28, 1998. This was the release date of the debut album from Black Label Society called "Sonic Brew." Unlike the albums that followed, this album still possessed a distinct Southern rock overtone that, up to this time, had predominated Zakk Wylde's writing style. This band never got the attention it deserved. Funny how time works, now Zakk is regarded as one of the greats in heavy metal!! I have dug this guy since the days of Pride & Glory, which is something I should dig up one day for you all, one day. So crank it up and p**s someone off!!

There is also a great lineup for tonight's show, featuring music from 👉 Eroded Pride, Black Sabbath, The Mighty One, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Fluffer, Splicer, Danzig, Buzzed & Loaded, King Crimson, Factory of Art, Black Label Society, Muddy Moonshine, Molly Hatchet, Led Zeppelin, Crowjack, Judas Priest, Hermit's Maze, Bat Hearse, KISS, Dire Straits, Mick Pini, Bagorah, Futhermuckers, P***y Ruckus, Ramones, Alice in Chains, St. Madness, Boston, Groovediggers 4 / Mike Langley Music.

HELLo FiEnDs ... Welcome back to The Underground Spotlight. Tonight, I will be featuring the Swedish band Doomherre and their new album called "Bonegoat." Naturally, I am drawn toward the doom-metal sound of this band. How do I describe their sound? ... If you were to take the Melvins, add in some Candlemass, and top it all off with some Celtic Frost, that should get you close. They are not a copy of those bands, but you can hear the influences on their music. The trio of Victor Takala on guitar and vocals, Max Collin on bass, and Daniel Strachal on drums. Victor's vocals are perfect for their music style. The guitar work by Victor is excellent, he has a very crunchy and precise sound. The bass work by Max is also on another level, his bass adds this overall doom feeling to the music (reminds me of Geezer Butler!!) which is also a perfect match with Victor's guitar work. Then there is Daniel on the drums, my god!! This guy is incredible, so smooth and powerful, a damn great percussionist!! Bonegoat gives you all of the above, with some of my favorite tracks being, We've Come for the Witch, Breaking the Seal, Sabbatsberg and the title track Bonegoat, hell who am I kidding? This entire album is just badass from the first track to the last. So please welcome Doomherre to the graveyard!!

There is also a great lineup of underground bands from around the globe!! Featuring 👉 ERODED PRIDE, The Mighty One, Yellowtooth, The Space Sharks, Hermit's Maze, Bad Analogy, MX The American, SZABOTAGEband, Warhog, P***y Ruckus, The Fish Mittens, Futhermuckers, Mad Mulligans, Flush, Bat Hearse, Scanner, Doomherre, Phantom Witch, BÖNE, Eld Varg, Warcoe, Sonic X Band, Blind Perception, Shuulak, BLACK WHISKEY, Bagorah Project, FROM HELL, ST. HELLo FiEnDs ... Welcome to Way Back Wednesday!! Tonight we will be traveling back to check out Molly Hatchet's debut album, which was simply titled "Molly Hatchet." This was released on September 1st, 1978. While they did not invent the Southern rock genre, they definitely left their mark on it. I have always felt this band was overlooked a lot of the time and definitely underrated. I got to see them live at a small venue in the mid-90s and they just burnt the place down, one hell of a live band!!!

As with every Way Back Wednesday, I take some of the greats from the past and forge that with the future of music!! Check out this lineup 👉 ERODED PRIDE, Rush, The Stooges, Buzzed & Loaded, Steppenwolf, Fluffer, Factory of Art, Pink Floyd, Doomherre, Rainbow, Splicer, The Mighty One, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Muddy Moonshine, Hermit's Maze, The Rolling Stones, Crowjack, The Tubes, Eld Varg, Bat Hearse, Feenstra & Simpson, The Eagles, Mick Pini, ST. HELLo FiEnDs ... Tonight The Scream-a-Palooza continues with one of the most iconic stories of all. Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus is an 1818 novel written by English author Mary Shelley. Frankenstein tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. It's hard to believe Frankenstein is 205 years old, and it is still better than most of the junk that is out there today!! So tune in tonight for a real monster show!!

Due to the length of tonight's feature presentation, we will have the traditional show opener, "Cemetery Dance", from ERODED PRIDE (Happy birthday, Jimmie!!) Then our closing tune, "Keeper of the Dead" from the Grüvediggerz4 / Mike Langley Music.

Also, be sure to swing by "The Room of the Dead." This live chat room has a live stream player (located at the bottom of the screen). Stop by for some GIF-enabled fun, great music, and some awesome people!!
