The Journey to MED
In the year 2000, long before MED was a recognized name for medical community news and information in the South Dakota region, science writer and healthcare reporter Alex Strauss left local TV news to launch the region’s first business and lifestyle publication for physicians.
Strauss partnered with healthcare marketer Steffanie Liston-Holtrop, MED’s VP for Sales and Marketing, in 2006. Four years later, with the support and backing of outstanding local healthcare institutions, advertisers, and providers, the publication transitioned into MED Magazine, now the premier business magazine for the entire South Dakota regional medical community.
The www.MidwestMedicalEdition.com website launched in 2013 and continues to gain momentum as a source of up-to-the-minutes news and information in a region that is becoming an increasingly important hub for medicine and research.
