The Festival of Trees will be held TODAY 12noon-8pm and
TOMORROW 9am-5pm at the Expo Building at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds.
The beneficiary will be Casa Angelina an orphanage in Guatemala.
This is a magical place where the children are adopted and get to call Casa Angelina home.

A snow alert has been issued in Sioux Falls (Tuesday, Jan. 3). Crews will be plowing emergency routes until the routes are clear. All vehicles parked on emergency snow routes are subject to ticketing and towing.

Zone-specific information will be released later when the snow tappers off. Heavy snow is expected all Tuesday morning, according to US National Weather Service Sioux Falls South Dakota.

With the approaching holiday season, residents would do well to go online and bookmark a local website that offers everything you need to know about Christmas in the Sioux Falls area.

DakotaHolidays.com was launched with the intent of providing information and direction on local neighborhoods decorated for the holidays. The site picked up where other resources fell off. The site has expanded to include Santa Claus’s appearance schedule, reindeer encounters, links to several local holiday events, access to area charities and their holiday projects, and streaming holiday music.

The website was developed and is maintained by local marketing agency Complete Media, Inc. The agency specializes in providing advertising and marketing services to area small businesses. The holiday website was a natural fit for the agency as a way to promote local causes and events, but also to give back to the community, something they and their clients strive to include in their business model.

Complete Media owner and president, Matt Luke, “I grew up in Sioux Falls and enjoyed viewing Christmas lanes as a child and now I get to pass that tradition on to my kids. By providing the official lights and lanes map and other links to local holiday events and resources, our team can help keep these traditions going and share them with the community.”

Dakota Holidays is also a gathering source for area groups, charities, venues, and residents to submit information regarding their event, cause or holiday celebration to include decorated streets, neighborhoods, and light shows. The site breaks down lighted areas and neighborhoods by region and provides links to Google maps for visitors to effortlessly navigate the community.

This is my Bright Spot of News for the next few days
We do a POSITIVE NEWS STORY each day, but for Christmas, I thought this story needed to be told. It's something I learned a few years ago. I was amazed how many people didn't know this story, so I decided to share it myself. Thanks to the internet, there's information available that made this pretty simple to put together. I wish I had more time, but this radio feature is only 5 minutes. There was so much more to be shared, but the main thing is this... Jimmy Stewart was an amazing man. His story should be told in a movie all about him, but until then, please enjoy this wonderful story about a wonderful man.... oh... and Merry Christmas!
